This reminds me of a letter that someone sent to a video game magazine. This dude bought an A/V cable for his PlayStation, hooked it up & started playing, but then his mom came over to his room & claimed that the game was showing up on her TV.

Monster Mania

Because this site is about monster trucks, I figured you guys might be interested in this old tape called Monster Mania, from 1985. I owned it when I was a little kid, but I had forgotten about it for the past 10 years until I found it on Youtube after extensive searching. It's a great example of ...

I could, but I like having the game refer to my truck by its proper name, even if it doesn't sound real.

Well, I converted all my WAV files to the proper bit rate, but they're still silent. Guess I'm gonna have to release my truck without a commentary track...

You know, I think I recall reading something about bit rate for sound files. I got the WAV format down.

Sound & music problems

OK, after some trial & error, I'm almost finished with my first truck. I just have 2 minor, yet annoying issues to take care of:

1. I created some commentary files that say my truck's name, but they won't even play in the game. Heck, the phrase that comes after is also silent! For example, when ...

Never mind, FlyRawGui is working for me. I haven't tried converting from BMP to RAW yet, but from RAW to BMP works like a charm!

Again, 16 bits programs doesn't work with vista/7. MDMRE wrote all his programs on Visual Basic 3!

I assume you're using the PAL to ACT in PSP4 Method. That's quite old. Use FlyRawGui instead, it will automatically convert your RAW files in to BMP files, and vice versa.

OK, I'll give it a go ...

Yet ANOTHER compatibility error...

OK, so I got that compatibility error message with another program, this time it was Palette Master. And once again, troubleshooting compatibility didn't work, so unless someone knows another utility for converting .ACT files to .PAL, I'm pretty much doomed.

But I'm trying to extract files from a truck POD & I don't think podini lets you do that.

WinPOD compatibility errors

I can't open WinPOD. When I try to open it normally, it tells me "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the ...

did you re-write the # of pods at the top of the file?

Ah, so that's what the problem was!

I re-installed the game & the patch, tried this & now I can enjoy other people's trucks! Thanks!

One other question: Do I need to get permission from the creator of a truck to re-paint it & upload it here ...

Podini may have messed up my game

OK, so after I played around with Monster Truck Madness 2 a few times, I decided to download a few trucks to test out & maybe re-paint to make my own trucks. However, I couldn't get PodIt to mount any pods to the pod.ini file, so I decided to manually insert it. Unfortunately, the first truck I ...
