Has anybody tried to prevent a light beam from shining through another model? I tried a normal face type on the model but not too much success.

This is one idea I won't be able to work into my theme track. But imagine what you could do with animated models that move in front of the lights.

you could hate grates like in splinter cell where the light shines through

altho it wouldnt look as good as splinter cell does this it would still look pretty good..

one problem that came to mind with doing this is that the light beam is actually a model the actual size of teh light beam can be changed but not the shape which makws me think it is probbaly a model inside the uneditable region of mtm2 (monster.exe)

that being the case, it wouldnt shine thru another model the way it would in natural light.

just my theory, have you tried ground boxes?
