OP's bright blue pains my eyes. I usually use the win95-ish pale green color. I've never checked to see if Malibu349 changed the default.

either black or white, depends on the models color....

speaking of colors, do you ever wish you could change the color of the vertice lines when mapping? I do, mapping to white is next to impossible without having to swap textures.

I actually use the default blue (as a general rule, blue makes a good background colour because of how the human eye works) but I can understand if you find it a little too bright-electric. SOmetimes I've used a slightly darker blue, but I generally like the sharp contrast.

I thought they displayed in reverse-video - in which case mid-greys get very hard to map to...

Good Question Phin.

I change the background color all the time. Depending on the amount of contrast I get between sections of the model I'm working on.

But as a starting color I use a light blue.

I leave it on the light blue - i'm too lazy to change it unless it makes the model almost impossible to see.
Also i usually change it to white for screenshots and i usually leave it there.

The stock blue works fine for me. I only change it if the model blends in too much.

What's hard to read is the blue text on grey background here at the message boards. I have to sit up close to my monitor to read the topics, when I'd much rather kick my feet up on the desk and enjoy myself.

I don't get blue text on grey. If you send a snap shot I'll see what I can do.

Thanks Phin.....I still see blue text, but the contrast is much better.

Cats do have poor colour vision... but their eyes are very finely attuned for detecting motion. Which means if I do this:

Clawfford should watch it all day long Image

It wasn't the color so much as the contrast. Very little difference between the old grey and blue to my eyes.

Dang! I keep trying to grab those bouncing smileys, but they keep eluding me! Maybe if I sit here and stare awhile biding my time they'll lower their guard and I can pounce...

POUNCE! (Owww!)

Okay. Maybe I'll just go back and stare at Mouse's post some more.
