Converting Pal to ACT .. how to
Converting Pal to ACT .. how to
Well its been about 3 years since I made a track so I thought I would tap dat mtm2 azz once again .. in doing so I find I dont remember how to make a PAL and convert the thing to ACT..I need to replace a texture on a BIN .. all im doing is taking a black and white RAW and changing what was white to black and what was black to white... should be somple right .. *cough*.. well thats what I thought .. or remember anyway.. so.... I converted the original ACT to pal.. that worked fine .. then I loaded up the RAW in psp 8.10 and then loaded up the pal with the mantain indexs checked and the raw opens up like it should... then i changed the colors like I want .. I tryed doing a negitive img change and then saved the PAL.. and when I tryed to convert it I get a error bad PAL file... then I just repainted the RAW and saved the PAL and I got the same error .. .. this new(er) psp is kinda screwy in the PAL department ...they have realy changed things since I last did this .. so IM sure IM doing something wrong someplace.. any help would be cool.. thanks much.......
You are going to absolutely love the new programs.
Install TxRaw - just needs a double click to associate RAW files.
<ul><li><a href="http://cownap.com/~mtmg/downloads/mtm2/ ... ></li></ul>
Double click any raw and it is automatically copied to the clipboard. Simply paste it into your paint program. No pal conversions required. Paint it the way you want and save as a 256 color BMP file.
Now, unzip FlyRawGui to it's own folder. No install necessary.
<ul><li><a href="http://cownap.com/~mtmg/downloads/mtm2/ ... ></li></ul>
Open FlyRawGui and choose convert BMP to RAW, browse to the file you just saved, click ok/open and viola, conversion to ACT and RAW complete.
Now go grab c-pod and unzip it to its own folder.
<ul><li><a href="http://mtm2.com/~mtmg/cpod/">C-pod</a></li></ul>
Open the bin in c-pod, replace the texture and you're done.

==========
Alternately, binedit now does texture replacing too. Check the menu and it should be pretty intuitive.

By all means, feel free to use them if you wish. I always loved your tracks and placed them among my favorites.
Drop by the ZO site someday and say hi to the crowd. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you. The team site is now at:
http://zkast.org/
Not playing MTM2 online myself anymore (still using bloody dial-up), but some of the old group still does play mtm2 and other games. I'm just modeling, assisting others with truck-making and helping out at Vales.mtm2.com and here on occasion.
Be sure to post your new track here when you finish it. This is now the best site for circuit track-makers (vales is mainly popular with those who like replica monster-jam type drag tracks these days)
Take care bro. It was great to "see" you again.
P.S......WORLD track sort
(under variations of your name, like SRT, ZO, GZ etc...)
