semi - transparent textures? for models

Post by Sky »

Forgive me if this si some where on the mtmg.
I saw somewhere a guy made a half-see through cab for a truk by mistake and it was discussed.I do not remember if this can be done on purpose.

It certainly couldn't be done when I was hard into editing.

My question, can some textures be semi transparent, I.E. glass for a window etc. I have seen it done with trucks, not sure if it will apply to in game models. What I want is to have clear/semi transparent textures for certain effects. I can make use of the transparency even if it is only a flat (1 or two faced .bin will work) I just need a screen, or filter nothing fancy.

So can this be done, if so how? I am willing to read if the informtion is out there just a link would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Yup, there's a small trick that you do while mapping the truck.

That's what I used to make the windows in my Neoplan Skyliner coach.

We ran those big Sob's during an SP race tourney one Saturday.

It was awkward, different, and fun as hell.
