Anyone know the name of the Helicopter model in MTM2, and if it's in the TRUCK2.POD file?....curious if I can replace it with an alternate model....

Or is it and the pterodactyl animated track models?

It's been a very long time, but I think the complete helicopter is at the bottom of this page. And you can find it in the startup.pod.

http://rhinoseros.com/~mtmg/models/Mtm2/animate2.html

Pterodactyl is the alternate helicopter. It's an animated model.

Heli.bin uses animated textures.

Success!

I managed to replace the helicopter in the game with a new model, complete with new sound effect (doesn't sound like a heli anymore). Workin' on swapping out the pterodactyl next....

My very first LST truck made with Winpod (all others were Tracked2 models)...this opens new doors for me....thx again for the heli info...

The truck has to be placed at the top of the POD.INI file for the effect (which also removes the un-needed driveshafts too.)

Hope to upload it soon, unless I come up with more ideas....

Look like a Ch 46 Chinook helicopter (sea hawk is the us marines version) . Actually, not exactly like it but close enough to think that's what it was intend to be.

Is Jumper making a request? Pick one or two of the helicopters from Malibu350's site and we'll see about making up a pod for you.

The MTM2 chopper is a generic model, but it does hold some strong resemblance to the Chinook.....

Other Twin-rotor heli's:

Piasecki XHRP-X Dogship (love the name!)

Canadian version of the Boeing - CH-113 Labrador (whats wiht all the dog names!?)

Kellett XR-8 (side-by-side rotors)

The labrador is a smaller version of the Chinnok. Really, it's the version used by the Canadian search and rescue. (they been trying to switch for years but Chretien cancelled the deal)

I beleive the Military version (Chinook / Sea hawk etc..) where modified in size so it could transport specific tactical vehicules and equipement. Possibly the engines have more power and more range than the Labrodor version.
