I haven't touched photoshop for a very very long time. Mabye I should get reacquainted with it again. Meantime, I found a cd labeler at tucows, lol. No fancy effects tho. Anyway, thanks ch. Guess I have to dig deeper.

All I see are tutorials for doing it in PSP 6 or higher, Photoshop 6 or higher (I have 5.5) or using PhotoImpact....no stand alone proggies.....You'd think they'd be everywhere...

I did all my tire lettering manually, letter by letter.

"Paint Shop Pro 6 and 7 allows you to make circular text. Follow the PSP tutorial below to make your own circular text designs."

---------------------------------

There also a non-direct "technique" for doing it in PSP5:

"CIRCULAR TEXT"

Don't you have Corel PhotoPaint/Draw Phin?
There is an option to "plot text to path" (i.e. circle, oval or whatever shape you make your path). I don't have the program mounted right now but if you search in Corel's local help files "plotting or fitting text to path" is the thing to search for. If memory serves me right the method is (in CorelDraw):

#1 make your path i.e. draw a circle

#2 write your text anywhere on the page

#go to TEXT in the menu bar and click on Fit Text to Path

After adjusting text size and/ or path size to achieve the required result you can then select your circle and delete it, leaving your text in place. You can choose to have your text (or any part of it) fit the path by aligning baseline, cap height or centre. Hope this is of some use.

I have all sorts of things, but seems I'm stuck in a rut with psp5. I'll have to start doing something about that. Meantime, can't have too many paint tips and tricks. Great stuff all around [tu]
