 Post subject: Suspension and Tire cut settings question.

I am not a Monster Truck fanatic, so I only have a very minimal idea as to what these garage settings do. I'm guessing that Tire cut affects how thick the tire treads are (and the trucks cornering ability.) The suspension I also guess relates to how bouncy your truck is when it lands from a jump. [nyuk]

Can anybody tell me how these two settings change your truck's preformance?

Hi Colin

Your idea of the garage settings is essentially correct, most people use soft suspension as that absorbs the weight of the truck when landing and you maintain better control that way.

Tire settings are more flexible, deep tires will give you more traction on some surfaces but at the cost of speed.

Shallow settings will give you better traction on paved surfaces at higher speed so long as you dont go off the road :)

When in doubt the rule of thumb setting is 1500 m/s.

A soft suspension makes the truck behave more like a boat and often lets you turn sharper. But if the track has a lot of odd angles, it can cause your truck to get hung up often. For extremely rough tracks, medium suspension can provide better control, but at a potential loss of speed as your tires are on the ground less often.
I do not know of any reason to use Hard suspension.

As for tires.

Deep for water, mud and snow
Shallow for "Default", dirt and cement.
medium for everything else.

By the new old folks home? You live on near main street or river road, what street?

Oh, by Pizza hut?

I am on Montgomery ave, just at the end of Oliver Ave. Main to Oliver, Cross Eveline and keep going until oliver turns and ends, then turn right, im right there. If your that close you could almost be using my wireless :D

Yep, you got the basic location right. So, we live pretty close to one another. I don't wanna come for a visit or anything if you're an axe murderer. [:P]

You get a lot more airtime on Hard suspension, which is why I use Hard for freestyles online.

lotta dickin around, I finally figured it out, if you wanna build a race truck, or a drag truck? drags... some swear by mine, I can help, well some say mine are good, whatever, email me if ya wanna know,I'll tell ya what to set yer stuff at.

lol my only problem is i can't find a good combo to beat the ai on my drag strip. they get like 0:5.8's and my best is a 0:6.4.
deep tires seem to work the best for acceleration, but i can't find a gear setup that gets off the line first, then holds it to the finish.

Remember MTM1? On drags, the AI would beat you sometimes on professional?

The AI are meant to beat you in a straight line. Just to let you know.
