Low resources is not the same as low ram. Get rid of programs running in the background to free up resources. If the problem is low ram, go get some more. It's cheaper now than ever before.

I've tried several "free up ram" programs, and the crashes weren't affected. Binedit hits a wall after 15-30 miutes or so.

WinXP just DOES NOT LIKE 256 megs...I gotta go shoppin'....

Good to hear, CH. Now you have that, it's time to save up for more ;-)

And for what it's worth, I can use binedit till the cows come home and never have a problem. Mal and I've been talking and think it may have something to do with me always over-loading on ram. I've never had less than 192mbs, and right now I'm running six times that.

The comp I use 90% of the time i bought back in '98 loaded with 384 megs of ram, the most the mb would hold back then, and I never have had a problem with BE crashing or sucking up resources but I sure would love to find out why others do... is it memory related? or g-card related?, i dunno but I've always had a nvidia chipset in one form or another for whatever that's worth.

just today i had BinEdit and Zmodeler running since 6:30 am, while i worked on a midtown madness2 project and Zmod crashed 12 times for no apparent reason while BinEdit never even flinched once... so obviously BE is just not so compatable with certain pc configurations, and that's a bummer
