Not sure if this is the right topic...

Anywho. My problem is a AGP slot. I have a radion 7000, it goes into the AGP slot. The problem is my computer will not reconize the AGP slot for it, or for the mother bord. The computer starts, but all I hear after is a BEEEEP then the monitor stays blank.

Right now I am using a ....Out of date pice of *beep*(1999) that uses the PCI slot. Does any one know anything that may be able to help me? It would be highly appreciated thank you.

Check your motherboard bios to see if your AGP slot is activated.

We need specifics.

What mother board, what graphics card, what bios version.

As far as I know microsoft never made motherboards and even if they did we would have to know the model number to help. It might be a Micro-Star International otherwise known as MSI.

Is your computer a name brand like Dell, Gateway, HP, or etc? If it is give us the brand and model number for the whole system and we can track the needed information down from that.

Open the case and look for ALL numbers visible on the motherboard.

Just for the record, I have gotten that result when one of my PCI cards wasn't making good contact (sound card, network card, modem, etc...). Loosing the card hold-down screws, rocking all the cards in the slots, then reinstalling the screws fixed it.
