I want to start making my own trucks, starting with Wild Stang.
I need to know how to edit another truck to make another body, and all the truck making guides i've seen so far just tell you how to make repaint another.
I hear to make these bodies you just edit the stock bodies and completely redesign them?
Does anyone know of any tutorial i can use or could they please explain how to do it?
Thanks.

The model editing program that handles mtm's native .bin format is BinEdit. I wrote a short tutorial that shows the very basics of model editing with it here...
http://binedit.com/bei/main.htm

You could probably find a vette body close to what you need then just hammer away at it.

Other model editing programs such as Milkshape 3D, Zmodeler, gmax, Unwrap 3D, and Metasequoia are other model/mesh editing programs you could try out as well.

Once you get the basics down you should try this one: http://cownap.com/~d2s/mtm2tute/steps/tutorindex.html
Then click on Fiberglass Body

Thanks, but i have a problem with Binedit, when i put apply vertex coords nothing shows up :? I've got show 3d vertices checked and tried pressing fit. I'm following your example and put 200 in the boxes then -200, but nothing shows up.

A vertex is only a point in 3D space. You won't see anything until you add faces - then you'll see the outline of each face you add.

I mean it's 100% blank, there's no coloured points or anything, I still just have a plain white background.

Already told you to add faces.

<center><img src="http://mtm2.com/~forum/images/bineditviewvertex.gif" width="591" height="497"></center>

If you've already added faces, then click the "fit" button.

If you still don't want to do that, then load a texture.

If you press the i-key you should get information about your model. What do you see when you press the i-key?

If you've added vertex points, then press the tab key. That will cycle through the vertexes you've added.

You can turn on the axis from the view menu.

You also have three render modes to choose from (four actually). Verticies only, wireframe, faces, and texture. Try switching between them and see if it makes a difference.

After you create the first few vertices go to the Textures drop down menu and click on Load, select any texture then Open.
