Ok guys, I am working on my second circuit, and it's called Lakes Galore.

Like in the title, it has about 5 lakes.

Dirt roads, bamboo and rock bridges (Thanks Malibu350 for the Bamboo Texture in Levi's "Bamboo Bridge" Topic), Lots of hills, Lots of bridges.

I will post a beta without models (there are no models on it now) so you guys can see if you like the track layout. There are also no checkpoints. You can tell me where to place those.

I will also post some pics as soon as I can from views in Traxx.

I will include a ReadMe in the final version.

And the song is "Ready To Roll" by Jet Black Stare

Can someone delete the first one? I need to upload a new one. I forgot to write to the pod when I last saved it.

I like it, grounds too high to see the lakes though. Can't wait.

This http://cownap.com/~tracks/details.cgi?t=5144 has been removed from the download page. To upload the next version, just call it lakesgalorebeta2.zip and you're good to go.

Yea, but if I make the lakes any higher, then the part where you go under the bridge near the start gate will be under water.

Wait a minute, that's a good idea. Maybe a little water in that area will be good.

I'm posting the new beta right now.

Lakes Galore Beta 2
http://cownap.com/~tracks/details.cgi?t=5149

I posted a replay. It's not very good but should show you a couple short cuts you might want to eliminate. I didn't hit either one particularly well but you'll get the idea. A good driver with a decent controller should be able to do a one minute lap.

Also...

Between checkpoint 4 and 5 - the long stretch with the hills and bumps - if a driver goes off the road on the left side, they will get stuck and even the helicopter won't be able to get them out. So you might want to fill in that ditch a bit.

And that's a loooonnnng jump just before the finish line ;-)

Ok, I'll check the replay out.

4 and 5, I'll make the left side about the same as the bumps, if it didn't have any.

That long jump, you have to be going full speed. If you mess up, it's game over. So I'll fix that too.

Hi TlathamXmahtalT

I like this track very much, its nice driving to me, you can really get the flow going on it. Like the layout the jumps and the nice curves.

A couple of things that I noticed was that if you have any sort of speed up while heading to the jump just before cp 1, upon landing it will grab you and put you at a grinding halt immediately.

Water jump at cp 3 - would be nice if water was not quite so deep so that you don't slow down to nearly a crawl heading through and out of it.

Did not check for cuts at all on this run.

Not sure if any of that helps.

Great work.

Thank you SP. I'll lower the water significantly.

The thing about CP1: I have a space between the bridge and the ramp, just because if I didn't, when you hit the jump, you will hit an invisible bump in the road and it will halt you.

I think I know what you're talking about. You see, there's a part of that bridge (Where the grass-like support is), that has no ground box. I will put a ground box in there to make sure there is no halting. (If that doesn't work, try softer suspension.)

And about the cuts, Phineus brought it to my attention via replay.

There was a cut near CP1 and CP4 (CP4 I think). Fixed those. He also told me about the ramp stretch, that if you had gone to the left, you would have not been able to get out. I fixed that.

I've been having some "underground" help, so to speak. Lol.

Thanks for the constructive criticism.

Delete beta 5! Beta 6 is in the building!

Note: The music is changed. The song is live, so if you hear people screaming, that's why.

The song isn't even RELEASED yet.

"Just Close Your Eyes" originally by Waterproof Blonde, but covered by Story of the Year.

I've just gone for a quick spin on it with BurtonBraves' Dominator 2008, and scored a lap of 1:40:36. Settings: 1700, medium. soft.

Amazing track too, I find this quite addicting. Can't wait for the final release. :D

Just checked out beta 6

I am still finding the bridge grabbing me to a sandstill at a certain part near the front of the landing coming to cp1 so trying to gain more speed to land further on. Used soft suspension.

The water road coming to cp 3 still needs the water to be a lot lower imo for a racing track.

As mentioned earlier I love this track and as roadknight said it is addicting. Great work.
