Ok, I've got myself a "new" laptop and just downloaded MTM2 and all the good stuff for it, but now that I've got all of it whenever I try to modify and save the pod.in file it gives me an error saying access is denied and cancels the save. I've already fixed the file extensions and security clearance but I'm still getting the access violation. Any ideas or am I just being an idiot again?

Also, how do I get MTM2 to recognize Nglide?

What are you using to mod pod.ini?

What windows are you using and where is mtm installed?

Nglide... for mtm2 to recognize nglide you should be able to simply install nglide and that's it. Then in MTM2 you should be able to select 3dfx as a renderer instead of Direct3D or Software Renderer.

Windows 7, and it's installed in the default directory. And that's why I couldn't figure out nglide. Still had It set to hardware.

What's the default directory? C:\Program Files etc etc? If that's the case then there lies the problem. You have not truly given yourself full control over C:\Program Files and Windows still blocks you from editing.

Never install games in C:\Program Files.

Ah, that would do it then. Thanks, I'll fix it when I get home from work!

I don't remember what you need to do exactly to gain full access, you will have to google. I very rarely install anything in C:, only programs I know will be left alone.

Actually all you had to do was open notepad as administrator. Then open pod.ini.
It's safe to install to c:\program files because Windows will create a virtualstore folder if the running EXE needs to write to it's own folder.
