I'm a convert, my trucks are going to use that effect from now on. May even be an excuse to update my old ones!

Needs a frame and I can make people happy...

Repurposed the good ol' "The Ride" frame for this one. Some more modifications that need to be done on it, though...namely cradle depth and other such stuff. Plus, missing the engine and other major accessories. But progress.

Alllllllmost there. Sponsor panels (easy) and red beadlocks are all that's really left. Oh, and a low-vert version, since this one is going to be right around 2200. O_o

Practice and patience. Some of these guys have prior experiance with photoshop or PSP from classes at school or just by teaching themselves. Some hand paint everything while others use high resolution photos and surgecly transplant them onto the truck. I believe that Cale did the later of the two for most of the base work on the raptor...(Correct me if Im wrong)

You mostly have it. I use photos/manufacturer renders of the trucks wherever I can, and then custom make the rest ("hand paint" isn't the right word, I use the tools in the program to do it). The reflections are an update of an old technique I learned from the master, Slick, for shading. I use both shading and reflections to get the effect I want, especially on black trucks like The Ride.

And, Kmaster, it's all in Paint Shop Pro 9.

If anyone is interested in how I make stuff, I made a tutorial years ago that details the shading: http://cownap.com/~mtmg/trucks/psp7.html
...and a thread on the reflections: viewtopic.php?t=5209
