Looks amazing
Nice one I am really positive about this upgrade. MTM2 i admit is well past its use-by date lol. are you looking at beta testers? coz i would be obliged to help test things out for you
I have sent you an email as well.

I cant think of anything more that this game will need. Pretty much all been said.

I just added you to my beta list.

BTW, I've run into a little problem. The four-link bars don't rotate with the truck properly, and now when I try to move them to create the suspension system, they violently spin end over end. Whassupwitdat?

I was just thinkin about what weather is going to be used. Such as clear, foggy, snow, night etc? What do you have in store at the moment? Oh, and is each truck going to have its own individual engine sounds? just wondering.

Dunno if you're listed in my beta list or not, but I'll look and add you whatever the situation.

>>Clear
Yep, that comes naturally
>>Foggy
Yes, Acknex supports a lot of fog settings
>>Snow
Snow won't be an option in the weather settings; it will be a track setting, specifically for tracks with snow.
>>Night
I don't know, since monster trucks don't have lights, but I hope to find a way.

As of the first version, more than one engine sound probably won't be supported, but I'll think about it.

Since you said Drags are a big part of this game are you gonna make it so you can run at stadiums at night? With the stadium lights just luminating the stadium

@ kpayne - I tried to add you to my beta list, but I can't find your e-mail address anywhere in your profile.

@ g8tors - Yes, nighttime drags will be possible through the miracle of dynamic lighting.

Just Wondering,
When are you looking at having the beta at a fully workable stage?

I'll help you out if I can Matt.

I have no knowledge of truck/track building. I'm just the average Joe out here, that has moderate computer knowledge.

Since everyone wants to know...

The first demo/beta will come when I am able to make the truck controllable, in the sense of acceleration, braking, and steering.

The tracks should be about the same difficulty with creation as mtm2's tracks, but since the track editor's graphics engine will be the same as the game's, it will literally be a what-you-see-is-what-you-get thing.

are we still gonna have to use ground boxed to be able to jump over things? Or can you make it so all we have to do is place the objects and then the automatically become jumpable?

he means like when you halfta make like the invisible purple ramps in traxx when u make a track so you can jump over them. so will you halfta do that to the tracks or is it set to where u can just go over them without any invisible ramps needed

To my knowledge, purple boxes (and yellow ramps) will be unneeded and unsupported. Collision will be per-polygonal (objects collide with polygons of other objects) so any object that's shaped like a ramp will work like one.

LOL

When you crash and bits fall off - I am suggesting that you actually have to drive to the pits in order to repair damage. If truck is totally screwed then have a tow truck come in, pick up truck, drive to pits and drop it off. Sound any good?

this isn't a nascar race ;)

I'd personally rather just leave the truck there haha.

something i was thinking of...a replay mode?

I don't know if it's possible...but it'd be pretty cool.

and did you get the 4 link bar problem fixed Mat? That doesn't sound too good o_O.

Good noooooooze, good nooooooze...

I split the skeleton in half the short way, so the front parts are separate from the back parts. Now I can animate each of them separately. Yes - that means the end of the four-link bar problem!

About the other problem (the bars don't properly rotate with the truck), I don't think that should be hard to fix. Just some kind of correction - perhaps it's already fixed. Actually, I examined the skeleton in MED Model Editor and found that the four-link bar attachment faces are pointing in the wrong direction, which could explain the trouble I had with VEC_FOR_NORMAL. If I can fix it, it'll be a lot easier to get through.

having to do with the replay mode mat I'd love to see cammeras when ya can single out each particpant OR have a giant broad view of the place and see both the trucks run... posibbly a photo finish cammera to might be good... and I noticed this with NHRA Gold Drag racing for certian in Car Cammeras or something along those lines I personaly don't remember you could take and move the cammera to any spot on the car IE engine cam wheel cam what not... that be pretty neat If we could do it here... I'll try and get some more info on this and provide it for ya here...
