What are the best looking tracks?

Post by Cale »

I want to flesh out my Community Patched version of MTM2 with a selection of awesome looking (and driving!) tracks. I have the baseline ones I've loved for years, but I'm sure there's some gems I'm overlooking...so, what are they?

This topic definitely appeals to me as I could spend hours chronicling great tracks with eye-popping visuals. Alas, I'll simply second what's already been stated, but add that while it's full of technical flaws, check out "Wilderness" by Derz. Overlooked/unknown by quite a few MTMers, it definitely made SLO's Always Podded List back in the day. Mind you, we thought it was impressive years ago, but with the advent of the new community patch, that track looks spectacular. ;)

One of Zoon's old sites still exist, though the download links are dead. VERY creative fellow: http://zoon.chez.com/mtm2.html

Looks like he was active on Twitter up to 2017. Hope he's OK. Read French?: https://twitter.com/zoonbyte

No worse than the website making tools for the free website space Geocities and Homestead gave us... ;-)

I found the front page of my very first website back in 2001. Page 2 is gone it appears. "MACH 2" was the very first custom MTM2 truck I ever made: https://web.archive.org/web/20010711175 ... index.html

I was surprised to find copies of my big website from 2002 still intact, though the background on the main page and a few images are missing. The site via the first link seems to have working truck downloads! Wow, that brings back memories...

--> Original site on a buddy's home server (some/all trucks download): https://web.archive.org/web/20021004234 ... _boneyard/

--> Site moved....The MTM2.COM version....Archived copy not as intact...No truck pics nor downloads: https://web.archive.org/web/20040828103 ... ~bigdogge/

--> And a nearly intact front page at rhinoseros.com after the domain swap, but again no pics or standard truck downloads, but if you click the SMALL TIRES link I think you can find some still-working downloads: https://web.archive.org/web/20030211045 ... ~bigdogge/

There may be enough files there among the 3 former sites to rebuild the Boneyard if I wanted to, though that's kind of moot now. The trucks are all here for DL.

I'm glad to see you back here, BigDOGGe! I've seen you before on KC's gaming websites (e.g KC's 4x4 Evo 2 Place). I wish your own Monster Truck Madness 2 websites are still up. But I still like your content for Monster Truck Madness 2. I used to make vehicles for it and upload them to MTM2.com in early 2011. Ah, the memories.

My first visits to KC's started in 2001, when it looked like this (the road signs are the links to files): https://web.archive.org/web/20010413223 ... om:80/mtm/

That was when I first learned to download a custom truck and add it to my game. Man, that was exciting the first time it works. I discovered MTMG soon after when I started practicing truck-making.

By the way, some of those track and truck links on the archive page seem to still be active.

Cool! I remember having a hard time registering for an account on KC's MTM2 Place years ago (sadly, technical problems with login stuff never got fixed), which is why I decided to move here in 2015. I miss KC Vale, and I hope [RCG]Balthazer will put all of his websites back online once he prepares their servers at his mom's flat (yes, all of them have been shut down, which is the current reason I can't make and upload any more custom content to his 4x4 Evolution and 4x4 Evo 2 websites).
