Bigfoot 1 (The Original Monster Truck, hobby project)

Post by NorthernLonewolf »

First things first. I am fully aware of Rep Fan's absolutely magnificent Bigfoot 1. I just wanted to make one with the 640 cubic inch engine instead of the 460 one.

Second, I have no deadline for this project, so don't expect me to post extremely regularly. I post when I get the time and feel the time is right for that.

Very early stage of the chassis. The wheel arches are being made, and enlarged to fit the 66" tires.

First render... off to a start. This will also be purely for my own hobby. Any errors that I find will probably be corrected, in it's own time. As for now, I see the front wheel arch isn't flat in the middle, which I will correct. But that's for another day.

Tire tread fixed. Now, back onto the chassis. Shaping it into a Ford F-250 (1974-1979).

Edit: as seen in the second image, a bit more curved treads.

I'm confused, is this supposed to be for MTM2 or just a personal pet project? Either way, I hope you're still working with it and can't wait to see more, thank you for sharing your skills!

More progress on The Original Monster Truck. Note: I did NOT redo the treads again... I made another set of treads (which I believe were from the Goodyear-kind of tires, a bit more rigid and with some more bite) which were rather optimized for car crushing and off-roading.

After quite a while, I'm back onto modeling some on this. As I may have noted in the past, I'm basically modeling when I get into Monster Truck Madness 1 & 2 again :D

Next up is probably the doors.

So I got the movie Road House in the mail today... and so my interest in monster trucks sparked into life again.

Inspired by the cover to the old 1987 VHS "The Living Legend - Bigfoot 4x4x4"

A little bonus... the truck from Herbie Fully Loaded. A real nice leaf spring monster truck, a true old school monster. I read this truck earlier was called AM/PM Boss.
