MTM2-To-MTM1 Conversion Tracks

Post by TDPProduction »

Hello there. Sorry if this isn't in the right section.

Anyway, guess what? I managed to convert all of the MTM2 tracks to MTM1 tracks. After hours of struggling of converting it to MTM1 track, I'VE FINALLY DONE IT! :D
However, there are some few differences between the original MTM2 stock tracks and MTM2-To-MTM1 tracks. I'm surprised that nobody has ever done this before. Thanks to Notepad++ AND C-POD, they let me edit LVL and SIT files and then replace these files in C-POD as well. I also included each FOG and LTE files in these pod files in order to get these MTM2 stock tracks working in MTM1.

The converted tracks for MTM1 list:
Farm Road 29
The Heights
The Graveyard
Scrapyard Run
Crazy '98
The Excavation
Breakneck Ridge
Sidewinder Canyon
Torture Pit
Voodoo Island
Tinhorn Junction
Tumbleweed Flats

For those who wanted to see the preview of MTM2 tracks in MTM1, HERE IT IS!:

Three points of criticism...

One: It would be better if all the tracks were all packaged in a single POD file, considering MTM1's stupidly insane 15 POD limit as opposed to MTM2's 99 POD limit pre Comm Patch.

Two: Some tracks are missing checkpoint objects, obviously some checkpoint objects wouldn't work in MTM1's primitive engine, but it wouldn't hurt to use MTM1's checkpoint objects as a compromise either.

Three: The terrain textures on The Heights are all completely black, to the point where it's just about visually impossible to drive on.

All those points aside, It works better than I thought it would be, albeit with some noticeable limitations with MTM1's primative engine, but better than I expected nonetheless.
