That sounds great! At least it sounds like someone will put out something new instead of hoarding it all to themself. [:P]
btw, is it bad to say that i am very happy this subject finally came up?

Why don't some of you post you thoughts on Draggers then instead of hiding over here. The funny part is a lot of the people who posted in this topic ARE Draggers members.

I know my name must be in people's minds when posting, because as most of the draggers members know (which is about all of you) only release my parts to certain people. I have reasons for not releasing them to the public. People I DONT want to have my parts are A)People who've annoyed me, or acted up towards me. Why should I give my hard work to you? You don't deserve it. B)People who will just throw them on any tom, dick and harry. I work long and hard on things for mtm2, and I'd be pretty PO'ed if they just got put on some UGLY looking truck. I'm talking mostly about truck parts I've made. Usually all the tracks (i finish lol) get released, and anybody can use w/e's on their. Getting back to trucks, with some trucks I make I like it to be sort of a personal deal, maybe to run it for a league. I'd like to be running that truck only, and not worry about others using it. Sure, after the league's over I may release it. And I recall some of you accusers of making and not releasing things. David, you ever release the Krypt Keeper truck you're currently driving? And I don't mean the black one with flames. So that's how I feel about it.

This may be a dumb question on my part but why isn't the draggers a forum here instead of a separate website? I am already a member of three different forums and it is time consuming and difficult to keep track of different forums so I don't want to join anymore than I have too plus the draggers members would add a lot more "zazz" [yep] here.
That is a very good point as well i never thought about stuff like that. I agree with alot of it because when i painted in nr2003 over there for a while i had a few things i didn't realease because of the time i made them alot of cars were being ripped and what not so i do see your side of the story and the other side to.. But anyways we should respect that you don't want to realsese some things to so i apologize on my behalf on if i ever did rush you into anything or asking you for something.. idk i can't recall but i don't have the best memory lmaoBuddyRo wrote:I know my name must be in people's minds when posting, because as most of the draggers members know (which is about all of you) only release my parts to certain people. It wasn't in mine. I was speaking generally.
> only release my parts to certain people.
Then maybe you should only show it to certain people instead of teasing and taunting people. That includes talking about it too. If you make it known in any way shape or form, then you should consider the impact it has on those who haven't annoyed or acted up toward you. Let's be fair, here.
> Why should I give my hard work to you? You don't deserve it.
Maybe, but that's the way of the world. Along with everybody who will enjoy your work will be a few you'd rather not have it or who might abuse it. But what are you going to do? Curl up in a little ball and die just to prevent a few from getting it?
> I work long and hard on things for mtm2, and I'd be pretty PO'ed....
How long do you think it took Guitar Bill to make traxx, or Oliver Pieper to make Binedit. If those guys didn't share their work and knowledge, we would have no tools today. How long do you think it took RBIII to refine and rewrite binedit, or CH_2005 to make cpod? You wouldn't be able to do anything had all those people been selfish and only release their work to people they wanted to have it. When you make a track or truck or only parts, you are riding on the backs of other people who worked a lot longer on their things than you have on yours. And they did it willingly.
> Usually all the tracks (i finish lol) get released
I'm glad to hear it. Nobody expects you to release unfinished work. Naturally not. But let's be honest too. A person could say a logo isn't done, or the tires aren't right, as an excuse to keep it. I'm not saying that's you, I really couldn't say, but I can see how the 'finished' idea could be exploited and abused. All in all, if you're releasing finished work, then you're doing the right thing.
> And I recall some of you accusers of making and not releasing things.
I wasn't accusing anybody. I was commenting on the practice of hoarding trucks. Myself, I make everything available. And if there are a couple hypocrits in this topic, then I hope they rethink their words. After all, you can't complain about what others are doing when you do it yourself.
Peace BuddyRo, we're good here.

The 'draggers' are welcome here and often stop by. But for the most part dragging is a little different than the modes of game play that shipped with the game and as a result they stake out their own turf on the forum Meth created - which, by the way, IS here. It's a good setup that has worked well for us, and since we're all in the same game and more or less all friends then nobody's seen any reason to change. If it's not broken, then why fix it?

BuddyRo made some good points, and on my part, i apologize to him. On the same note, Phineus also made some good points too. If you make something and you arent going to release it, dont go showing it off, b/c that is basically teasing. If you have something that people are going to want, and you know it, don't taunt them with it. All we're trying to say is there have been alot of great things made in the past but there are only a select few who get to enjoy them, and that isn't fair to others.
Bottom line: If you make something and you plan on releasing it, then let others know about it and see it. If you are not going to release it, then keep it to yourself, don't tease others by basically saying "I have it and you don't."

Well #1 Phin, out of all I wrote I wasn't referring to you at all, being I hardly talk to you. So I don't think you're accusing anybody.
I may not have to curl up in a ball, but I've kept some things from some people for a while now, and it aint THAT hard.
If I was making something that would better the game then I wouldn't think a second of keeping it to myself. That's totally different than 2 or 3 custom parts.
I do exactly what the title of the thread is, "Show Your Projects." If I'm working on something than I'll post a pic of it to get some opinions. It's not called "Show Your *Only-to-be-released* Projects."
With tracks, I sincerely just don't release them because I lost interest in finishing them, start other projects and lose track, or just get frustrated on something so much that I just forget about it. But finishing and keeping a track to one's self is just plain stupid if you think about it. You'd rather play on the track by yourself than with a bunch of people in competition or for fun?
And I can pick out a few who've posted here and done the same thing. At least I had the guts to admit it.
Anyhow, I'm glad some of you see my points, and to those who don't well I just can't help ya there.

I release every truck I make. If I entered an online league, then wanted to drive Four X Force, I would just lay my claim to it on the forum. If someone else gets to it before me, then so be it. It's my truck, but I certainly 100% don't mind other people enjoying it. That's partly the reason I conceived the Four X Force idea, both the future real world racing team and the virtual MTM2 truck... for the enjoyment of others. If someone claims it before me then I'll just use another truck.
It'd actually be interesting to see how someone else handles my red 'n silver beauty...

Use binedit
http://binedit.com/
but you might want to wait for that until at least your second project.
