Hehe timely post, Runner. This marks the second time you've come to my aid. Thanks a bunch. I didn't work, but I sure appreciate the effort. O well, guess I'll try a few experiments. Thanks again.

hmm thats very odd. I dont know. Try reinstalling C-POD. also try going to the redistry and deleting all the keys for c-pod
current user\software\vb and vba progs\c-pod 1.blah.blah\

also try redownloading c-pod. maybe the file is corrupt.

does cpod have a vert/face limit when creating pods?
i just figured out how to pod [bump] when doing so i did with a .trk file and it came up with this error...
Image
then it crashed.

opened it again and did blackstallion .trk file and everything worked just fine.

edit: nm i was missing files. problem solved.
although u may want to change the error messages to somthing that can be understood by a noob.

you were building a truck from a trk and it gave u a type mismatch? It should have told u what file u were missing. What file was missing?

THe guy who made the Bigfoot replica for the expo had over 6000 verts and faces on his truck. as a result c-pod would not build the pod.
If u hurry i can read your comments and possibly respond in the next day or so.

I like the palette and texture viewer. Nice improvements there.

An idea for you to ponder during your holidays. Autoload views in the detail window as you use arrow keys to scroll the file list. Sort of like windows explorer when it's set that way, or the traxx model previewer.

But man, you've done a number on this thing. Great stuff!

Hey guys - you know what i would love? If u guys get together while i am gone and make a mad phat all inclusive readme for this program i will love you forever. It's in desperate need of a readme. And some tutorials (text tutorials - part of the readme pretty much) and if you do make this nice readme then I'll actually keep it up to date :) i promise :)

I've been too busy for some time now to dig into your new versions ch_, and I'm quite sorry about that, the timing has just been bad is all, but I'm very (incredibly) impressed and grateful for your work and will dig in when I can, I will consider jotting down things as I learn, when i learn, for the sake of documentation. Keep on keepin' on buddy! and standby...

I've been quiet since I pointed out the file indexing error somewhere around the very beginning of this thread, but I wanted to pipe up now to say good work and congrats, CH. Up until last week I was still using the buggy version, but I finally got around to downloading the then-latest version, and just did so again for the now-latest version. This utility has become quite indespensible to me lately [tu]

On C-POD, I have tidings of some minor bugs I found in the last version I had and that are still present in yesterday's release, revolving around the pop-up model detail window... BTW, in my case I'm talking trucks but it would apply to models in track pods also...

1) I double-click on the truck name at the bottom of the screen, and it draws the model wireframe in the Detail window. I can double-click that to get the more detailed details ;-) popup to appear, and see all the face/vertex details and list of textures.

But, if I close the model popup and then decide to bring it back up again, I see that the texture list is empty. I have to reload the model to get the texture list to fill again.

2) I double-click on the truck name at the bottom of the screen, and it draws the model wireframe in the Detail window. I can double-click that to get the more detailed details ;-) popup to appear. No problems.

I then double-click a texture file to get the full-colour picture popup. Still no problem, with or without closing the previous model popup.

But, I now double-click the Detail window again, expecting to get the big model details popup. Big problems. If I've closed the picture viewer, nothing happens here. If I still have the picture popup open, it resizes to the shape that the model popup takes, but is still titled Picture and still shows the image - which I suspect is a bad thing for the program to be doing. In order to get my model details popup to work again, I have to reload the model into the Details window.

I appreciate that this is happening because once I select another file (the texture above), the model is no longer the active file. But it's still displayed in the Detail window, so this particular pleb user has the expectation that he can still call up the more detailed details ;-) popup.

...No big issues, but anyhow, there's some more infuriating idiot-proofing for ya to do :)
