if you got any ideas on how to fix this, please share them
The problem:
The game pad is not detected in game.
Symptoms:
Cannot change off the keyboard settings (if I choose gamepad, and click it, it resets to keyboard).
In calibration options, it doesnt move the axis's.
Recent changes to pads:
I installed a logitech profiler for my wingman controller so I could configure the flash game i was playing to use my game pad. The profiler though, attempts to put the wingman on ID 1. Now I'm not sure if that means anything anymore in the windows XP world, but it did in 95.
Every other game works fine, but mtm2 does not.
Too my knowledge mtm2 uses ID 1 all the time. Thats how I used to manage several gaming controllerson my 95, just switch the ID's.
Attempted solutions:
Deleted the profiler software
Tried changing which USB port my gamepad is on (thus reinstalling it)
I've looked for ID options in joystick controls but can't find any.
Replaced Monster.ini with a fresh version.
Tried both Joystick/steering wheel (my normal choice) and Gamepad options, neither work.
Information:
Controller is Saitek Rumble Force. The drivers from the Cd were used, but the profiler failed to install for it, so there is no profile present for it.
The controller worked before. The only change to the system between workings was the profiler.
Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I don't know about "ID 1", but I do know if you have multiple controllers you need the one you want to use set as "Preferred device" for MTM2 to read it (which may be the equivalent to ID 1).
Here's the MS Knowledgebase article for MTM2 not detecting controllers: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317645/en-us

Follow these steps to select the device that you want to use as the preferred device:
1. Quit the game.
2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
3. Do one of the following:
• If you are prompted to pick a category, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Game Controllers. -or-
• If you have the classic view in your Control Panel, double-click Game Controller.
4. Click Advanced.
5. In the Preferred device box, point to the arrow, and then click the controller that you want to use.
6. Click OK twice.
7. Start the game, and then select the controller.
