hmm good question, I have found some bugs on Cowpod, but Phin says i'm trippin (lol) and I'm too busy procrastinating to fix them by myself.Paulcurtis2 wrote:would having 2 different pod mounting programs (podIt and Cowpod) in the MTM2 file cause it?

I'm not talking about Paul's error, I said "I have found some bugs on Cowpod" and I did.Phineus wrote:Kmaster, that's you not cowpod. Same thing happened to euros and Smurf.
When a file in pod.ini cannot be found on the hard drive, you get this
http://cownap.com/~mtmg/errors.cgi?e=1
When you have too many pods in pod.ini, you get this
http://cownap.com/~mtmg/errors.cgi?e=49

Here is one the so called cowpod's not listed feature
I got my own custom spanish LOC file, as you can see here:
http://jpkmaster.googlepages.com/Image1x.jpg
And this happens when I load cowpod. Yeah, it seems to be everything in order.

but when I pick any loc file or any of those extra features like the hidden track, close and save changes and reload cowpod

this happens:

cowpod saves the file with the mtm2.loc file and extra horns activated. but I didn't pick that.

I'm sorry but cowpod does stock loc files. There was no such thing as custom locs when it was made. So that does not make it a bug. I also have a replay.loc file. I either have to mount it manually, rename it using a stock name and mount it higher, or re-write cowpod (which I haven't done yet because I thought you were doing it). I don't see any bugs.

The problem we found with Smurf was that euros do not use a dot for a decimal point; instead they use a comma. Of course, they could not read or edit smf files because of this. So, I made a companion program called Smurfette (small smurf) so they could temporarily change the decimal character and when finished they could switch it back.
I gave you the link to the api that edits the ini file. If you can discover where the conflict is, then we might devise a fix. But the need for a fix does not mean cowpod is broken. Your system is doing something, or expects something, that cowpod was never designed to do.
> Did you find this code within the source?
You might want to find and alter that.
See if this does the same thing

Years ago I would never have recommended that, but if he's still working on it after all this time, then who knows.

Code: Select all
if Country == Chile Then
redim preserve monster.ini
else
update monster.ini
end if See if this does the same thing

I never said that. The "feature" is that cowpod reset my monster.ini file.

Again I never said that is a bug, and thats exactly what I do, edit monster.ini manually.

hmm that might be the problem. I have to take a look at that.

Yes you did. Only one problem.
Sheez, you take things too literally.

no I couldn't

Just to be clear, I didn't mean that "this" problem was dots and commas but that the euros presented something we hadn't taken into account and which needed extra attention. So, by analogy, is something happening on your system that we don't know about or haven't anticipated?
> The "feature" is that cowpod reset my monster.ini file.
It's supposed to. If something isn't right, it defaults back to the install configuration.
> What is PODium ?
A pod tool. It does a few things. When I looked at it, long ago, I think it was too ambitious for the guy at the time, and he had more attitude than I wanted to deal with. But things change. It's been a long time, and he's added more 'features' ... so who knows.

Oh boy lol.
When Cowpod came out I gave it a try and have never looked back.
I would use nothing else.
I have never found any bugs at all.
If anything has been the matter with mtm when I have run mtm after a computer hard drive crash or whatever, I run cowpod and it fixes everything back to how it should be.
Thanks for a great program Phin.

Alright alright, it's on my queue listPhineus wrote:You have the code, what more do you want - hints?
Nowhere does it say [pre]
If opLoc(n) = True Then
keyValue(13) = "UI / SPANISH.loc"
End if [/pre]
Search "opLoc" and see what you find, or add this to check results
MsgBox opLoc(n), vbInformation + vbOKOnly, "opLoc Value"
- Finish rooftop track
- Update my track page
- Work on wikia
- make cowpod compatible
- add a favicon to my site
