in my opinion, they should call off the event, not for safety reasons, really not much to be done there,, but because the show doesnt always go on, sometimes you just have to stop and catch your breath.

I agree, they should of called the rest of last nights event. But people were commenting saying they should shut down the whole weekend.

I mean, I can see them calling last nights event, it was during freestyle, the last event of the night, ya know.

All and all, it ticks me off, some people on different news sites, are blaming the driver for this, it was a freak accident. You cannot blame the driver for this deal.

They are also saying they shouldn't have monster trucks in the Tacoma Dome anymore because of this. The thing is, it was a accident, hardly ever happens. Its not like it happens all the time.

Yes, I think its one of the safest sporting events out there. I mean I am involved with sprint car racing, and dirt track stuff, and I've witnessed 1 death in my life, are promoter got hit my a dirt modified, and I have witness many many injuries in sprint cars, my dad broke his neck in a sprint car.

The thing is, you hardly hear of people getting killed in Monster Truck events, in the truck, or a fan.

This is a tough deal. I am going to Monster Jam tonight, and I know everyone will be having a good time, but are hearts are gonna be thinking about the family involved in this deal. The racing community (regardless of what type of racing) is one big family almost. Its sad when something like this happened.

One of my best friends brother was at the event, and near the area that it happened, (he wasn't right next to them) but was near, and he seen it happen, and he said it was a real eye opener, especially when him and his girlfriend are expecting a little boy soon, he said it was tough seeing that, he can't imagine what the family is going through.

My best friend is going to the day show today, and he said he was up there, walking around at the pit party they do, and he said its a bit quiet than usual, which is understandable.

I just hope the rest of the weekend goes better, and hopefully nothing like this happens again.

well, its not my place to announce what happend, but the part that failed was the Drive Shaft loop, after the wheelie, it spit out the rear driveshaft and for some god awful reason the metal in the Drive Shaft Loop failed and it shattered.

Well I won't post it anywhere, and you must of found out from someone who was at the event? driver? official?

I was talking to my dad this morning, cause he told me, about it, and he figured it was something like that.

All and all this is a very sad deal. I can't imagine what that family is going through right now :(

It's now being widely reported that it was indeed a 7-10 pound driveshaft loop.

Last night at the Monster Jam in Tacoma, they did a moment of silence, which atleast lasted 3 to 4 minutes, it was a tough deal. Very tough.
