I need help in many different ways
I need help in many different ways
Here are my problems;
1- The patch isn;t working so I cant use more then 5-10 extra trucks. maybe what i have is missing some files? and no its not the trial version.
2- How in the world does Traxx work for creating trucks or tracks? I do everything it says and still its like the files asked for isn't there, in other words that isn't working for me.
3- How do I add tracks and Trucks to MTM1? And how do I know which trucks and tracks work for MTM1 & or MTM2?
4- How do I create trucks and tracks for MTM1?
5- podmate2 doesn't work for me for adding trucks or tracks, afterwords I still have to enter the trucks into the wordpad for anything to work
6- and last but not least if there are a few files I'm missing to do some of the above for creating stuff could someone please list those files so I can see if I have them or not
Hope someone can help me lol i have gone thru every step over and over for doing everything listed above. lol

Theres a FAQ page below the "General Discussion" link, in the main page.
And you could at least search in old threads for some information.

I've been here since 2003, and trust me, all those questions have been made.
1. you can mount up to 33 POD files on a non patched mtm2 install. BTW, the patch MUST work. If it doesn't you're doing something wrong.
2. See the traxx school.
3. Same way as MTM2. But this time you have to create the POD.INI file. Tip: Installing tracked 1 will do that for you.
4. Same way as MTM2...
5. I couldn't understand what u re trying to say. PODmate2 is a POD merging program, not a pod mounting utility.
6. couldn't get you again. Seems like you want to create "stuff", tracks/trucks. There are plenty of tutorials on MTMG.

Phineus wrote:You forgot to mention you tried ALL the tutorials but none of them work on your computer, and you forgot to ask how to open ports on your router.
lol funny.. I figured out the the track stuff, can someone send me in the right direction towards creating custom trucks, I have photoshop CS4 would that work? Also have paint shop pro. Or is there some better program (thats easy?) for making a custom truck?
Kmaster the patch doesn;t work, I keep getting an error with it. I think its my pc.
But anyway can someone tell me how to add tracks and trucks to MTM1 and how to know which ones are for MTM1 instead of MTM2. Cause i cant really find any tutorials about MTM1, just MTM2. Sorry If I am missing something. I already know how to do it with MTM2.

Thx for the link.
The patch; the error message I get " Cannot find existing installment of microsoft monster tuck madness 2, installment aborted"
No offense but your questions are a bit silly. You ask how to do absolutely everything as if it was a matter of checking a box or pushing a button, and yet you tell us absolutely nothing about what you've been doing.
So.
What operating system are you using, and where did you get the game. Yes, it matters. The message you're getting from the patch is because the game is NOT INSTALLED on your computer. Let's handle that first before you start trying to leap buildings in a single bound.

Just forget it, the patch doesn;t matter. I figured out tr&ck creating/editing.
I have a question on this though http://www.runt9.com/mtm2tutorials/truck_making_tutorial.htm I do this part The rest of the options are pretty much up to you. Now, click open, and open up 04knk2.bin. Go up to view. Make sure Show Only 3D View is checked, if it's not, check it. This makes it easier to work with. and after that I have to open up like 10+ more files with it, like BLACK.raw RED.raw and so on, am I doing something wrong? Instead of just showing the frame like in the pic on that page, it shows the full truck. Or do you have to open up 10+ files every time when doing what that tutorial says?
If I were you, I'd save yourself the trouble of trying to create stuff yourself, and just start off with trying to get the game working.
The patch DOES matter, and don't say it doesn't. We can't help you if you won't help yourself. We've all been playing/fixing problems in this game for years, some of us since the game(s) came out. We know what we're talking about, and we've encountered just about everything. Phineus is one of the most helpful people in the entire community, period. Tell him what is wrong, tell him what you want to do, and he will tell you how to do it.
For MTM1, you cannot increase how many trucks/tracks you can add to the game. You can only do that in MTM2 via the patch. If the patch won't install for MTM2 via that error, find your MTM2 disc, or if you don't have it, let us know and we can point you in a number of directions to download the game, and REINSTALL the game. If you have a fresh install of the game, the patch WILL work, period.
Also, there are a multitude of "podding" programs out there. Podmate 2 is not one of them. If I were you, I'd use Podini. I can easily point you in the direction of a link if you'd like. It's literally "Check this box to pod this truck/track, Uncheck it to unpod it".
If you give us DETAILS as to what you need help with, we can help you. Also, don't bite off more than you can chew. Don't start getting into truck/track making immediately. You WILL have problems, you WON'T get done what you want to because you WON'T know what to do. I know what your issue is in Binedit, and it's an easy fix, but I don't think you're ready for truck making yet, and I will stand by that.

Well that all might be the most helpful info anyone has gave me yet. I know most of the basics on the truck and track stuff, my biggest problem was I was looking at tutorials that just wasn't that great at pointing someone in the right direction. I found the right one and its helped in many different ways.
I'm into graphics work with photoshop/paint shop, so I just want to have some fun with it and see what I can make, plus that I've been a monster truck fan for 20+ years.
My biggest problem with the patch might be that when I tried to install it I got this error "unable to find language specific dll unable to continue" so I used some other download I had that was missing some files and added those, giving me the full game installed or so I think?
Unless someone knows how to fix that dll problem I'm screwed cause I think thats why the patch wont work.
Hope that helps and hope someone knows how to fix that problem, thx if anyone can.
Again, you need to reinstall the game. Since you didn't get it from a disk, let me tell you exactly what to do.
Step 1: Make sure you have a CD burner. If you don't, skip the rest of this and know that you fail at technology, haha.
Step 2: Download this file: http://mtmc4fun.com/MTM2.ISO
Step 3: Go here and download this program, Poweriso: http://download.cnet.com/3001-2646_4-10 ... l-10439118
Step 4: Open the MTM2.ISO file in Poweriso. It will probably ask you what to do with it. Set the file to BURN. Set the settings at default, and proceed to burn the file to the CD. Do NOT use Windows' built-in burning wizard for this process, as it will likely screw it up.
Step 5: Once the file is burnt to a CD, eject the tray, push it back in, and hope that the MTM2 setup autoruns. If it doesn't, go to your desktop, go to My Computer, and find the drive that has the CD in it. Click on that drive and it SHOULD start running the MTM2 setup.
If this process doesn't work, let me know and I'll find another way to help you.

Now, if you would still like to try your hand at truck/track making, follow the tutorials on my website. Photoshop CS4 is a hell of a lot better for painting trucks than PSP, and it's the same principle of converting to .bmp and opening and editing and saving and all this and that.
If you have any question, I WILL walk you through it, it just may not be in the nicest way.
Also, if you are interested in getting into online racing, let me know, and I can hook you up. There are circuit tournaments as well as plenty of dragging leagues, and both of them provide a lot of entertainment.
If you have anymore questions, ask in detail, and we'll help.
