Cowpod not working
I recently downloaded the game. I set it up correctly, used nglide and everything is working perfectly fine. Except that if I attempt to add in a new truck or track in Cowpod, it doesn’t do that. The save button doesn’t work. Any help?

Re: Cowpod not working
Had the same problem before, you need to set Cowpod's compatibility mode to XP or whatever operating system of your choice. (preferably XP.)

Re: Cowpod not working
Alright, I figured out why Cowpod wasn't working. My Pod.INI file was set to read-only. However, the trucks and tracks aren't appearing in the game, even if they are in Pod.INI.

Forks you can now post everywhere in the forum.
Re: Cowpod not working
First question: Are you using cowpod with the latest community beta version? If you are, my apologies but cowpod has not been updated to work with it so it will always default to 30 pods and if you try to add a higher number it won't let you.
If that is not the case... hmmm.
I personally have always preferred podini, a more simple program but it works no matter the game version or windows version.

Alright then. I’m using Windows 7 so I’ll try Podini.

Still not working. Thinking of reinstalling the game.
Re: Cowpod not working
I assume you are using either the official patch or the community beta patches right? (the beta patches include the official patch).

Re: Cowpod not working
Alright, I'll explain the whole thing: I got the game from this site, the full one. I tried installing the patch, but nothing would happen. It wouldn't install. I'm not using any patch. Maybe if I install the official patch it will work, right?
Re: Cowpod not working
That's why the addons don't work. You need at least the official patch for it to work. Though if you just install the community patch (http://mtm2.com/MTM2/Utilities/CommPatc ... tches.html) then it will have the official patch already included.

Re: Cowpod not working
I installed the Community Patch. I can finally add my own trucks and tracks into the game. Thanks man.
Also yeah, Cowpod's trash. Podini is much better for sure.

Re: Cowpod not working
UPDATE:
Now I'm being presented with the same problem again, this time on my new Windows 11 PC.
Everytime I use Cowpod to pod files into the pod.ini file, for whatever reason, despite the pod.ini showing that the pod is in there, when you open the game, they never show up in the truck, nor track menu. This essentially the first time I'm being presented with this problem in ages.
I've just about tried everything at this stage, from installing both the official, and community patch in order, to changing permissions, to running both game and Cowpod in compatibility mode, and not one single solution works. It's almost as is if both the "pod.ini" file and "Monster.exe" can't seem to find a pathway to one another.
I'm guess I'm taking a hiatus from MTM2 until someone can figure out why this problem persists.

Re: Cowpod not working
Have you tried using podini instead? I still use that and it works for me. I know the advantage of cowpod is that it allows you to have files in different folders but to me that has always been finicky. If I have the tracks and trucks in the main MTM2 folder together with pod.ini and monster.exe, I've never had a problem (and using pod.ini too).
Re: Cowpod not working
Welp, looks like Podini seems to have fixed it, only now the problem is that I can't have such folders like "tracks" and "trucks" with the pod files in them separated to keep the main MTM2 folder neat and clean. Unless there's another alternative in doing so that I don't know of?
Re: Cowpod not working
Whoopee! PodIt is just as better Cowpod, plus I can change the pods in whatever order I wish, and I can finally have them in separate folders once again!
Cheers Fila!

Re: Cowpod not working
From Windows Vista and up, if MTM2 is install in Program Files, you need to run as administrator Cowpod to change the pod file, also check in the propeties of the MTM2 folder that it's not "read only", hope this information works for you.
Re: Cowpod not working
I used Cowpod on Windows 10 with MTM2 in Program Files (x86) before I even got this new Windows 11 PC, and that was working just fine, yet I can't get Cowpod to work on the new PC regardless of having Cowpod running as administrator and the "read only" unticked.
Oh wait... the MTM2 folder was ticked on "read only". Well... it's too late for that now, PodIt is a much better program for me anyway, as I've mentioned the things above that I couldn't do with Cowpod.
