I've never had problems with burned copies of MTM2. As faras I know, there's no copy protection (unless they added it to later copies. I got my CD in 1998.)

I have installed the game from one of my back-ups successfully (I lost my CD for several months once, so now I have several copies about the house, in case I lose my original again someday). However, I have never given away or sold copies.

Really, I've tried {several} times with different comp's. I got mine in late '99 or early '00. The last the store had. Thank God. Haven't seen it since.
