too many directories

just downloaded a few trucks, and when i try to open pod-it, it says "too many directories - better move some." should i just delete the zip files and leave the regular folders there since they've already been unzipped?

That's a new one I haven't seen. Try this. Make a folder called trucks. Put all the truck pods in there. Then either delete the zip files or move them someplace away from the game.

Also, any folders that are left empty because you've moved the pod files can then be deleted.

thanks. here's what i did:

made 2 new folders (1 for tracks, 1 for trucks) and moved all the folders into those. then when i want to race a track, i just move it back to my mtm2 folder, mount them, and race them.

You don't need a folder for every single track and truck. You can put all the pods into one or two folders.

It will let you mount your addons without moving them. It works the same as podit but should read all your folders right where they are... so you don't need to copy them back and forth.

I've seen that a few times. podit has a limit of subdirectories that it can read, it's somewhere in the mid twenties.

i put all of my unused tracks in one folder and all of my unused trucks in another folder. then when i want to run a track/truck, i move it back to my mtm2 folder and mount it.

I do the same thing, except I store them in ZIP form, then unzip one when I need it. No need to occupy unnecessary disk space for archival reasons, even if you have plenty of space to use.
