RACE 'n RUMBLE tournaments

Post by OLD_Jammer »

Hey guys 'n gals. I didn't see a weekly update post about the Wednesday RACE 'n RUMBLE tournaments that are held each Wednesday evening (USA time).

Hosted by:
BurninDirt & GuyWood : at RenGamesOnline.com

The official webpage of the RnR hosts is here:
http://7l.homeip.net/MOD/index.php?page=home

ShadowPrincess has a brief rundown of what RnR is for those unfamiliar with it. It's a lot of fun!!!!!!!!
http://www.shadowprincess.com/MTM2/RnR.html

At any rate, I hope to see more people enjoy these tourneys.
There's usually about 14 or more people either taking part, or cheering us on from the sidelines.

Here are details on WEEK 1 of the Wednesday Race 'n Rumble Tournaments. (May 09, 2007)

Due to storms in my area again, I was late getting to Renaissance Games tourney room and missed the chance to team up with OLD_Ghost :/

Pickle came in and needed a partner so he and I teamed up.
I raced, and Pickle did the rumbling/blocking.

Our point total added up to 37, which was ONE more point than our good friends SLO_CLC and SLO_Scatter.

HVR_Yomega and I teamed up in the May 30th Race 'N Rumble. We were pretty popular no matter which one of us raced. We both were jammed up pretty well.

The June 13th track was R&R Oasis. A small track, but perfect for RnR. Lots of checkpoints, lots of sinking dirt pits, and lots of places to knock into racers. mohaha

SLO_Scatter and I teamed up and we did fantastic with a Second, and three Wins.

The final round was a big bottleneck near the finish and we didn't come out on top, unfortunately. But second place ain't that bad..... :)

Tonight's Race 'n Rumble track was "ONaN C98-2 by OLD_NICK at NITE".

It ran long due to more than a couple of rooms having either Launch problems or partners needing to go to work/bed. The final results were as follows :

LOL interesting that I had to leave (work) before the final round, yet we still came in 2nd?

At any rate, here's what I postedf in the SLO forums:

Welp, I finally had a Wed off during the day, so I tried my hand at an RnR tourney - paired up with Muddd. Had one heck of a time, even though I had to leave before we could start the final round. Unfortunately I won't have any more Wed's off til next year probably, but I'm hoping to pick up a few RnR games on the side. There's seems to be quite an interest in that format, so maybe we can get Fri nights going again . . . or whatever day/time that doesn't conflict with a tourney.

Thanks for hosting it, VS/GuyWood. As always, people will find something to complain and gripe about, but few want to take "their" time to host a tournament. Again, I can't make Wed's, but still, I think it would be a bit more efficient time-wise if you established a registration period and stick to it. That way your tourneys start on time, and hopefully get completed at a reasonable hour, especially since est time zoners have to stay up late to partcipate in these functions. You'll never please everyone, so don't worry about that, but at the same time, consistency and efficiency goes a long way toward appeasing the masses lol.

Anyway, thanks again for hosting these gigs, guys!

Tonight's Race 'n Rumble tournament was "Malfunxion Junxion by Clawfford". It's a smaller track that favors a clover leaf.

We had two rooms of 8 guys. Kinda wild when there were pileups at the checkpoints.

Posting this way after Midnight.........Several of us wanted to keep RnR'ing after the tournament, so here it is nearly 2am... lol

Tonight's track was "Restricted Area by Malibu350". It is a stock track from 4x4 Evolution that Malibu converted over to MTM2. Very nicely done.

The host's macros weren't working tonight, so he manually just typed out the First and Seond places..........

what? I always forget lol, or im busy or w/e lol, well i was never a fan of RnR anyways, i can never catch the racers, makes me wish racers had to run 600 gear, then i would like it, but i dont make the rules :p

if i'm ever aware of a rumble like 2 days ahead of time and know i can be there then I come. the last minute thing tho... not usually

Tonight's Race 'n Rumble track was "Farm Road 129" by CH_2005 .

SLO_Scatter and I were teammates up until the finals when Scatter unfortunately had to go due to the late hour. HVR_Yomega stepped in since he and his partner, HVR_Breezer were just outside the top 3 in finals along with another team.

Yomega raced, and I blocked. And the results are below :)

** Yomega credits the win to SLO_Scatter that helped race us into the finals to begin with.
