Won't Download

Post by loveshinex »

Hi, I just joined this because I have a question for you guys. My sister and I just found the monster truck madness game my dad bought when it came out and we remembered how much we loved playing it as little girls. But when I tried to put it on my computer it downloaded to 29% before it just stayed there and did nothing else.

I was wondering if any of you knew how to fix that or make it work? I'm sorry if this has been asked before and if it has could someone be nice and reply anyway? Or leave a link to the topic where it was answered. Thanks!

If you are downloading the disk image then try one of the mirrors, or find a download manager that allows you to resume downloads.

If you are downloading anything else, sorry can't help.

What she meant is the cd only installs to about 29%, then stalls. Sounds like a bad cd, but I think I gotta her headed in the right direction.

May sound silly, but take a real smooth cloth used for cleaning glasses, or even a soft T-shirt and wipe the data side of the CD real good. There could be some finger prints, or something messing with the laser reading the CD in a certain part where it fails.

CD's are pretty durable, sometimes, personally I got a worms armageddon disc, that well, something got stuck on the eye of the laser, and in that old computer, the drive was kinda screwy, if it had a disc in it, it was always spinning, I always ignored it, well anyways, it got some dirt on it, and wore off the last 2 CM of disc completely, making a deep groove about 3/4 aof the way thru the disc. needless to say, it wouldnt read anymore. stuck it in a burner drive, read's just fine lol, A friend of mine had some special stuff that coates and repairs the CD, i did that works perfect now.

if u wipe down a disc make sure to wipe from the inside out towards the edge in straight lines. Don't do circular rubbing.

Yes, I would recommend cleaning the CD. If that doesn't work, then just download MTM2 from classic-gaming.net. And, if you get MTM2 working, why not stick around? Make tracks and trucks and stuff. Up to you, but I think it's really great! :D
