Name wasters.

Post by Roadknight »

After going through the member list I have noticed there are a lot of people who have registered and never posted anything. Some signed up as early as 2000, and have never done anything.

Is there anything we can do like delete accounts after a certain period if they have never been used? There must be plenty of wasted names that people who would actually post would like to use.

The link to view your profile is this

http://forum.mtm2.com/profile.php?mode= ... ile&u=2271

The index number is "2271." However, the stats at the bottom of the board say "We have 919 registered users." So if you subtract 2271 - 919 = 1352. Therefore, 1352 registrations were deleted long before you thought to look.

In short, yes names can and are deleted when it's appropriate to do so.

At the same time, even names from as far back as 1999 are valid and people still visit. And from time to time people are pleasantly surprised to learn their old login still works. So we have to be careful about deleting names.
