Google's time capsule

Post by Drive2Survive »

As well as 2008 being MTM2's 10th birthday, it turns out Google is also 10 years old.

Anyone seen this? http://www.google.com/search2001.html
Basically, it's the oldest revision of the search engine they still have, dating back to January 2001.

Really trippy searching for stuff that didn't exist back then... for example:
- September 11
- ADSL2+
- Rickrolling
- iPod
- Facebook
- Youtube (returns no results at all)

Or, you can search for things you did know existed back then - because you were a part of it. karf.net anyone? :D
The neat thing is they have linked the search results with the Internet Archive, so you can actually go back and look at those sites :)

Nice, I've tried looking up some old MTM sites but not many of them work.

As usual, Yeastman's site and Grifter's mtm.naz.com are no loads as well. Darn, I miss those too.

Try here for YM's Corner. A lot of links seem to work.
