joy stick, steering wheel, gamepad (with 1 or 2 sticks, like a console), keyboard.

I always use a joystick, makes it much easier to control the trucks.

so far I've used all three, and foudn steeringwheel in MTM2 fairly unrealistic, and prefer having twin stick gamepad with throtal control turned on so that the left stick is steering and the right stick in gas/brakes. But for rumbles I switch to digital mode and turn off throtal control, because I prefer the "instant" steering that digital give syou (while still set up as a joystick in the game so your wheels litiritly turn instantly)

Keyboard all the way. ;)

I tried a stick about six years ago and hated it, and I refuse to bolt a silly wheel to my desk. Gamepads break too easy.

> Other?

???

The keyboard with a mouse driven camera interface would be perfection. I could drive with my left hand and pan the camera with my right. I'd be unstoppable.

I have used wheel, joystick and keys.
I prefer wheel to race
I prefer Joystick to rumble
I prefer keys to just type lol, however, when I run tournaments on the laptop, if I need to race or rumble then to fill in, I use keys mainly cause I am just not where I can use the other two, its just convenient at that time.
Oh, also have a gamepad but only used it once, didn't like it.

Other? well I voted other as I use many different things, needed an 'all' category lol

Keyboard! I should like game pads more on account of all the video games I( I have about forty and four-five consoles), but I still prefer keyboards.

ive seen some weired setups, thats why other could be important, game keyboards for example, are truely strange lol.
I drove my truck on my mouse once, wheel up/down for accel/brake, steering didnt work so well though, it was one of those fancy mice with the wheel that can shift side to side aswell, that didnt work so well, to hard to drive lol

Keyboard, just because i've drove with it since 2001 and it's the first thing i see that i can use to drive. Mouse doesn't count. I have a joystick, but driving with it just not possible, joysticks are made for flight simulators. (Just look at phin's driving lol, although stick becames usefull when i lag him, he can land better after a lagshot lol) I had a wheel, was realistic but hard, i had to get used to it, something that i couldn't do. I gave the wheel to phin and now i'm waiting to send it to Canada. (he gave me an original oem copy of mtm2, thanks phin!)

I prefer using the joystick for racing because I find it to be more precise and controllable. I like either joysticks or keyboards for freestyle mostly because I don't have to be so controlled. [nyuk]

there are programs that will let you map mouse movements to keys (i'm almost sure of it). U could use it to turn the mouse into a camera pan controller.

I use number pad personally for keyboard gaming. I like the extra room and more surrounding keys.
