Just a thanks...

Post by RobbyH14 »

Phin,

I just wanted to take the time and thank you for everything you have done for the community and for myself over the years. The life lessons and the game lessons, in that order, have been invaluable, and you deserve all the credit in the world for keeping everything together for all of us that play this great game for fun from time to time. Thank you.

*ahem* carry on, and feel free to insert a wiseacre comment or two...haha.

Seems to be the proper place, so, Phin, thanks for hosting my site, for hosting and supporting my projects, my trucks, my tracks, my research, the wiki project, thanks for all the advices, for all the words of wisdom, for all the support and help over the years... and the CD ;)

And for keeping this game alive, for all the tutorials, for maintaining the MTMG, the forum and the MTM2.com site, for giving us a great place to play online and for all the jokes and great memories.

I know Robby was probably not intending this thread to head quite the way it is, however, while on the subject... thx Jams, you always have my back, your help and backup is invaluable to me.

And all of you here:

the track, truck makers/programmers- without you this game would not be as exciting as it is. New add ons pop up often and keep this game interesting.

the gamers - you are what makes the game the fun place it is to play and the reason we all come back day in and day out - we are family.

the other hosts - who add their own touch to the game, a bit of excitment and friendly competition.

Everyone behind the scenes like here at mtmg and the forum posters. Like Slayer here, an old time player of MTM, may not play much these days but keeps forums alive and his hand in the game.

No one is left out, we are one, and all help in our own way to keep our wonderful old game alive.

[cheers]

Good idea Robby. I'd like to toss my thanks out to everyone that works on the Cownap side of things for keeping this game going and issue free. Phin has been always been the adult figure with fantastic insight on any issue. It's a pleasure to be working and learning from him and CJ on the Draggers board for over two years now.

Oh and a special shout out to Maly-boy for his fantastic models that I'm still using to this day with my tracks. A lot of people would be lost without Malibu's site and model making expertise.

I just want to give a thanks to...

Everyone here. One for all, and all for one.

I have progressed from help on the board, models from many people here, especially Mallyboo, and paint ideas from other truck makers, including Travis for inspiring me to make the Amp Energy dodge. I'd like to give some to Paul Curtis for letting me help him with Terraduster; sorry my PC is whack right now. Thanks to some of you on the board that have disrespectfully taught me a lesson about truck making; it really has helped me, to be honest. Thanks to the circuit hosters, including SP, Alex, and Jam. Circuits are really fun, and I need to start getting back into them. I'd like to thank the workers over here at Cownap. Phineus, I know that I have gotten really mad in the past, and have had outbursts, and you have caught onto it and brought me down to a calm level. That is real big. If you hadn't helped, I'd be out of here by now... Ahem.

Thank you to all of the people keeping this game alive, on the Draggers side, and the Cownap side. Like Robby said, WE ARE ONE.

And lastly, sorry I have not been that active, but I am working on an MTM2 video featuring "Born To Be Wild (Cover)" by Hinder. <-- And stating that, the guy who actually inspired me to do this video with his crazy camera angles, and cool effects, the guy who also has Sony Vegas Pro, J-Rob.

I know it's long, but yeah, thanks. :D

Oh hey guys are we saying thanks to everyone?

It's been nearly 7 years since I first contributed to this fantastic community, back when I was new to the internet, incredibly naive and rather childish (hence the username).

I can't tell you how much I've learnt from being a member here. There are too many to thank but off the top of my head the people who really helped me out were Phin, Mal, Cope, Jumper, NIR_Ashes and a whole host of others. Apologies to those whose names I've forgotten, if any of you are still around and reading this. [;)]

I guess this is also a chance to extend a very late apology to BigDogge as well. He spent weeks making a bunch of custom animated models for me about 5 years ago, in the hope that they'd end up in a track released to the public. I never got around to finishing it and at the time I didn't even have the decency to thank him for his work, tell him how the track was going, or even say sorry for never using the models in a released product. I don't know if BigDogge is still around but I just wanted to say "Sorry mate". :)

So um yeah that was me thanking you all for everything. Hope the community stays tight-knit and friendly like it always has been. [tu]

Many thanks go out to ShadowPrincess for her tireless efforts of keeping Saturday evening racing tournaments alive all these years, even stretching back to The Zone days.

Some do not know that she gets up on her Sunday mornings in Austrailia before 7am to host the Saturday evening race tourneys. It is a real labour of love for her and she's put in countless hours creating and maintaining webpages for all of our viewing for years. Hopefully many more : )

I feel honored :)

TJ you really have came down to earth a lot as of this year. It's been great not arguing with ya. Just thought I'd give you props as well.

And Phin, Mal, Dave, Robby, Scotty, KMaster., and many many others deserve my thanks, for helping keep this game alive. Without them, and many others that deserve honorable mentions (can't type all of them because there are just so many). This game wouldn't be what it is, hell to me it's not really even a game. It's a community in which happens to feature a game we all have enjoyed and continue to do so!

Thank you Phin and everyone for doing such a great job!!

Hey, it is whatever you want it to be, haha.

Believe it or not, I am working (SLOWLY) on my first track that wasn't created for a league or "assigned" to me. Thank you for the interest.

I just felt like making this topic because a lot of us don't get the appreciation we deserve in our everyday lives, whether it's doing your best at work, school, home, whatever...and we should. To me, many are the first to complain when something goes wrong, and the last to compliment someone when something goes right.

If there's anyone in MTM2 that deserves that compliment, it's Phin. Mal, Cope, ShadowPrincess, and many others know I love 'em too:-).
