Evo I or Evo 2?

Post by Warren262 »

So I just got back in to playing MTM2 again after over a year. Also I've been looking up information and videos for 4x4 Evo. The wikipedia pages have pretty much no info on trucks or anything. I was thinking about getting one of the games for PS2. I was wondering which 4x4 evo to get, I or 2? Does the 2nd one have more trucks and better graphics. Or is it worth it just to get the first one?

If you want to play online, choose Evo1. Evo2 multiplayer is dead...

Get the first one for PC, not PS2.

I have the 1st one for my Ps2, and the second one for PC. They're both O.k., but now that vales is basically gone, there's really no where to get add-ons for the PC games (at least, not that I know of). if anyone knows of a good site for that, that doesn't require a membership, or have download limits, let me know!

Well I found this truck list: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/583240/21157

There's a lot more trucks than I thought there would be. I'll probably get Evo 2. I'd prefer to get it for PS2 but if I had to I'd get it for PC. I didn't really want to get it for PC because I wasn't planning on modding it.

Also, does anyone know where I can buy the PS2 version online? I don't think many if any stores will have it.

your best bet offline would be Game stop. Other than that, I can't be of much help.

Edit: for Ps2, I mean. Gs doesn't do used PC games.

Not a console guy personally, so I lean towards the PC for all gaming.

PC versions -- Evo1 is still active daily in multiplayer. You can meet real live people and play games every day. We hold tournaments every Saturday and Sunday in 4x4 Evolution (PC) online multiplayer. Matter of fact, you can hop over to the "Racing" section of this forum and see all of the 4x4 Evo (not evo2) tourneys and all the participants. This is online mutiplayer PC version.

Evo2 is dead. There are some people that still login to multiplayer and wait for games, and may find a person or two every once in a while. There is a racing tournament once a month on Friday nights with the NKA team hosted by Nick RG.

Well since I can't find the PS2 version online I'll most likely be getting the pc version. Like I said I don't plan on modding it or really racing online so its better if I get Evo II. I've read a lot of bad reviews about it but for $.69 I'd say its worth buying. [:P]

Why on earth would anyone want to only play Evo and Evo2 offline ? :?
(shrugs shoulders).

Evo2 died off due to the "Op Wars" and immaturity of the people that played it. Evo2 had a much younger crowd and they just were at each other constantly and people with Ops would kick and ban people, and time went on and others would obtain Ops and kick and ban people, and it was just a bad scene. That, and the handling of the physics was so different from Evo.

Well I don't think I can because of how my internet connection is setup. I've never been able to play MTM2 online

don't forget the ford trucks (ford trucks, right?) and the weird collision detection system

Still, evo2 has impressive graphics and better new tracks.

You can get it for free at KC's
TRI gave him permission to offer it for download.

For legal reasons the stock truck.pod could not be included but it can be found pretty easy and added back in.
Reality is for those that cant handle video games.

I already have it downloaded. [;)] Do you know where I can find the stock pods? I already purchased the game but I'm just playing the vales version to see what it is like.

EDIT: Monday is President's Day so it'll probably come next Tuesday.

Why not? Its one of the best places to get Evo and Evo2 information and if I'm not mistaken this post is about those games.
