The Grave Digger Hype
The Grave Digger Hype
I have something that I thought should be discussed. To start off, I am not taking anything what-so-ever away from Dennis Anderson and the rest of his team and drivers. They are all very talented and should be respected for what they do. I always thought they are top level drivers. But, I think the excitement over all of them is a little bit much. Yes, Dennis invented freestyle but was he the greatest frestyler, no. Yes, I think that he put in a great run from time to time. Yes, he wins alot and has in the past. But do I think there are better drivers, of course. I think when Scott Douglas says that Dennis spends the most time with his fans is a bit exagerated. For example, at the pit party all of the drivers spend equal time with their fans. It sounds like he is trying to put drivers like Meents and Creten under Anderson's radar. I mean yes he can be competitive but is he the best, I don't think so. I mean Dennis is a nice guy and has a great family. But, we should look at other drivers as the future rather than the Andersons dominating week in and week out. Yes, Ryan beat Meents but you could tell from Meents' qualifying run that Meents was struggling that night. Same thing with Creten, he lost in the first Round in El Paso Day 2. We can not obsess over one driver and his bloodline of Anderson for the future of the sport. Yes, they probably will be around forever but will other people such as an extention to Meents' team come around, yes. I hope you guys read this and take this into real consideration as the Anderson hype is beginning to annoy me. Beleive me, I might be a true Max-D fan but I like other drivers as well such as Linsey Weenk. There's a Grave Digger block party, there should be an Avenger and Brutus one as well. I mean let's stop and take a breath here. We can not be looking at one monster truck family as the only future for monster trucks, needless to say a certain promoter [;)] . I feel that other guys need to be recognized the same way, maybe more if they aren't recgonized enough in the first place. We have to look at people (drivers) and teams such as Pitbull. Charles does so many great things for the sport and outside of it. Yet, he is outbeasted by the hype of Grave Digger. There are so many other teams I can name that have been beaten down by the Grave Digger hype. I think Adam and Ryan are great drivers as well. But also, they act as if they feed off only Dennis. They feed off all of the other drivers as well. For instance, Lupe Soza. They watch what people like him do to improve their driving ability. It annoys me when they say he's a natrul, yes he could be. But they act like it's off Dennis and it's not just off him. Even Adam and Ryan say they want to be independent in the sport. I think Monster Truck world people need to tone down the hype. Some of you might think I am making up this hype. I'm not, I say the facts. Sometimes people can't. They want to distort it to make it their own story. I'm sorry, you can't let hype likes this get out of control. It's annoying everytime, like he's the icon of the sport. Bigfoot created the sport, Grave Digger didn't he just was a branch of many teams that came out after the creation. Dennis only had a small part, Bigfoot created a majority of it. Lyle Hancock even developed some crucial features in monste trucks before his untimely retirement. Even the guys who don't have major contributions their still making an impact on the sport one way or another. It's not just the Andersons, its Meents,Creten,Weenk, just to name a few. We have to stand up for our monster truck freedom.

Alright, let's try this again. I am trying to say that the Grave Digger hype is excessive. I mean Dennis and the rest of his team are great but are they the best, no. There are so many other great teams and drvers/crews out there that get beaten down by the Grave Digger team. Grave Digger is not the inventor of the sport either, as so many people act as he is.
To start, the Anderson family in general. Yes, Dennis is a great driver. But the fanbase, and Scott Douglas for example act as if his sons feed only off him. They feed off of the other drivers as well. They are not the future of the sport either. Yes, they have a great future ahead of them. But no, they are not the main people of the sport. Dennis isn't an icon above all the rest, he is not the main man. They act as if he spends the most time, when he spends as much time at the pit party as the other drivers.
Also, the teams that get beaten down by the Anderson hype. For example, Charles Bennes and Pitbull Monster Truck Team. They and him do so many great things. Charles does things in and out of the sport. For example, he gives to charity. For example, the Grave Digger hype doesn't give him the recgonition he deserves. I mean you may find I am just beating the Grave Digger team, I am not and I am just stating the facts.
This also should be discussed, they act as if Dennis is the Icon and inventor of the sport. He invented Freestyle and a few other minor things here and there. Bigfoot and Bob Chandler were the true inventors. Grave Digger was just a branch of many other teams to follow Bigfoot's lead. He really only played a small part in the making of the sport. There were also other guys that weren't payed attention to like they should of, for example Lyle Hancock who made some great contributions in the shock area before his untimely retirement
.
Now let's recap shall we, alright. To begin, Dennis is not giving his sons all the talent that they have. They are feeding off other drivers as well. They aren't the future of the sport either, just a minor part of it. Also, Dennis and the Grave Digger hype beat down other drivers that aren't recgonzied as much as they should be like Charles Bennes and Pitbull. Also, Dennis isn't the icon and inventor of the sport as Scott Douglas says all the time. There are so many other great people who have contributed, like Bigfoot who is the true inventor of the sport and Lyle Hancock who before he left had made some many major contributions in terms of shocks.
Sincerly,

Oh yes, he was banned from draggers.
Let ME try this again. This is not the place to post these kinds of rants. You're flooding our little domain with tons of completely irrelevant posts that no one here wants to read and have nothing to do with what this forum is based on. Most people here will grow more and more angry if you keep doing this and you will get banned/ripped a new one by everyone here if you keep it up much longer.

On Topic Post:
I actually agree with him, they just had the MJ races in Winnipeg. Grave digger sucked, I think we was first one out each time. His freestyle sucked, he was the only one that never rolled while Madussa rolled twice and sheered off a wheel once.
Definitely not as exciting as he is hyped up to be.
And to the flamers here, this is the general discussion forum where you can talk about anything, even real world topics (OMG). Unless he actually starts making offensive posts...

Slayer, the thing is, we have experience with Tyler, he doesnt listen, he posts random crap that no one else on earth cares about normally and he does it over and over and over and over and over again until someone hits him with a Ban Hammer, and then, he goes somewhere else and does it all over again. my advice is to nip this in the bud now, smack him with the ban hammer before he spams up the place.
