WinPOD compatibility errors

Post by Green Machine »

I can't open WinPOD. When I try to open it normally, it tells me "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

I tried the "Troubleshoot compatibility" option from the right-click menu, but clicking on the "Start the Program..." option with the recommended settings does nothing. Anyone have problems like this?

Well WinPOD is a 16 bit program.. it just doesn't work with Vista/7 versions of windows. I dunno if there's a workaround for this.

But I'm trying to extract files from a truck POD & I don't think podini lets you do that.

If you're using Bin Edit, doesn't it have a pod extractor?

I still use WinPOD even more than C-POD (not sure why), so to anyone who might be interested, I'm converting WinPOD (vb3) to the Win32 API (vb6), making it compatible with Vista and Windows 7.

I'm had some trouble with the old Sheridan 3D buttons (VB3/Windows had no 3D buttons, so people back in the day had to use custom controls), the image preview function and the picture buttons but it's no big deal.
