I drive with a steering wheel and I think it does help, well, it helps me

I would like to race online, but I've got an internet connection through a router. Does anyone know that's a problem? I've tried to race on the zone when we didn't have a router (I was a client pc, using sygate) but it didn't work. Should it work when you use a router?

There are some people here who beat records I've never come close to and I wonder what kind of control they are using. I think it'll make a difference whether you use a joystick or a steering wheel.
So, what do you use?

My times:

Farmroad -> 0:53.40
Crazy98 -> 0:46.99
Breakneck -> 0:50.95
Scrapyard -> 1:00.63
