EmmaPelletje2 by Emma & Pelletje

Post by SLO_COPE »

Nearly three weeks ago I posted a review for OLD_HotShoe's, "The Grade", and I mentioned that track making (circuits/rallys) was at an all-time low. Well...since then there seems to have been an explosion in this area, and EmmaSW is now a contributor to what appears to be a track making frenzy.

Emma & I recently met after I sent her and Pelletje (turns out Palletje is Emma's mother!) an e-mail about a few flaws I discovered when running this track. Emma kindly responded and pointed out it was still in its beta stage, and that she was in fact aware of the problems, but didn't know how to correct them. Enter Phineus, who provided her with specifics on how to repair her track...and thank goodness she followed thru with his suggestions and made the needed repairs. I really would've hated to see this one get tossed aside or remain flawed; it's simply too good of a track!

As it turns out, Emma and I are now pretty good friends, Image and by no means is she new to the track making scene. She’s been around for a few years now, and has 23 tracks under her belt, with number 24 on the way. This one happens to be a rally, and a beautifully crafted one at that. Emma & Palletje obviously invested some time in this one, and if you're partial to long, scenic rallys...this one's for you! Oh but it doesn't end there; the mother-daughter combo put together a very nice "racing" track, as well! Although not an extremely challenging track overall, it does give you a few precarious “twist” whereby attentiveness to what you’re doing is, well...a good idea! They’ve also thrown in some very nice variety in terms of straights, varying road textures, jumps, and turns that keeps you tuned in to the ride. Not for a minute was I bored running this track. I for one appreciate the creativeness and use of color in their work, but if that’s not really of interest to you, the race-worthiness alone easily justifies the download.

Emma, I hope you let your mum read this review since she definitely had a hand in making this track. I very much enjoy it, and it’s already on the SLO website! Furthermore, I’m sure this one will find it’s way to being featured in a SLO Event real soon! This baby here earns a “Copey rating” of 9 out of a possible 10!! Great job, you two!! :)

Well said COPE. Emma & Pelletje have created some of the most unique, colorful and interesting tracks around. However, many of the tracks they produced are very rare, most were uploaded as beta and were lost to the public while still in beta, last year I lost nearly all the ones I had in a hard drive failure. I'd love to see the whole library re-released. ;-)

I'm not sure how many are race-ready but for offline fun and 'eyecandy' enjoyment their tracks are hard to beat, and "EmPel 2" is no exception, this new track is an epic journey with plenty of off track places to explore. Great work Emma & Pelletje!
