I won't give my opinion of C-98...other than everybody and their brother can run :41s on it...oh, and that it takes very little effort to hit :41s on that track. I wanna know what your clockin' on Voodoo. Hehehe

As for Pearl...did you make any changes to the course? Seemed to be the same...however, I can't verify that since I overwrote the previous version. I did notice you took out the grass. Well, my assessment pretty much stands as before; love the layout, so what's next?

Yea... I smoothed out the new section alot... changed some jumps a little.. changed the big bridge to where you just completely clear it.........

As for whats next I'm trying to get the track perfect before I start on everything else... and if Phin ever looks at this I think he'll be a little happier... just a little...

I'm right here.

I was trying to avoid another case of why bother syndrome.

I thought the first version was fine but needed some touching up. This version could almost stand as two one minute tracks. The transition from one course to the other is very clearly marked. But it also works as a single longer track too (obviously since that's the way you made it). Yes, the surrounding area is much improved, tho it could still benefit from additional attention. So, um, what are you looking for on it now? Courses for comp trucks and the map? Check points maybe?

Dont worry bout that... lol... I wont be working hours like that until next summer.... starting football practice now...

>>>I thought the first version was fine but needed some touching up. This version could almost stand as two one minute tracks.

Thats only because you ran the first one... I dont think anyone else will really see it that way..

>>>Courses for comp trucks and the map? Check points maybe?

Both were done at the time of your post.... Just havent uped it yet...
Pic of map... http://psyco.karf.net/ppcqr.jpg

>>>where the arrow points

I havent figured out what happened there yet.. Terrain looks smooth in traxx.. so does texture.... Guess I'll redo that jump to fix it...

>>>invisible bridges

Tell me that in a race where you wreck comin upto it... and I had probs with comp trucks there.... So I fixed it... Image

>>>somewhat of a precarious spot to negotiate

Exacaly.... lol... Although I have already smoothed it out a bit in the next version..... but like I told phin.. I havent had time to up it yet...

Thanks Guys Image Will have new test up before I goto bed tonight.. I think...

Nice changes, Psyco - I like it! Yeah, I think that spot you smoothed out on the approach to the bridge works much better. Yes, I understand it wasn't meant to be cake, but again, the point was there was sooooo much road there, but only a narrow portion of it was usable to properly negotiate that section of the track.

I haven't gone thru it with a critical eye yet (just got back in town), but I will tonight. I'll let ya know what I find...if anything. Lookin good so far, and I love the "Pearl" logo at the very begining. Nice touch.

I don't have objections to the angle you used in pic 2; pretty common on lots of tracks, but not nearly as severe as some that I've seen. Hehehe I know it's a pet peeve of Phins (blind jumps/turns), but I look at is part of knowing the track...and catching those that do know about it off guard...sleeping at the wheel.

As for pic 1...yeah, it's too bad you don't have the expertise to effect repairs in the spots Phin pointed out. I recall seeing them for the first time and thinking that although it looked odd, I didn't find it visually offensive. However, I think the track would look much better without em.

That's all for me for now. Image

By all means, my good man! Actually, I didn't come to that conclusion on my own; you basically said it yourself with "Pic 1 - The sideways textrues look even worse if i try to remove the crossroads.....". Hehe still, I'd gladly eat those words. Image Looking forward to the next version

Niiiice work Psyco, very nice and natural. You have become a true master of terrain. ;-) It's cool that you decided to take the extra time and effort with this track, as it would be a shame to just spit out something less than excellent at this point.

Remember, you can satistfy sparse racers by making use of complex settings on loads of scenery, and as for extra scenery, head to http://malibu350.com and check out the landscaping section under track scraps. ;-)

Opinion: I think the groundbox bridge (it's a jump, actually ;-) along course segment twenty-one is a bit ugly, and the raised sides block what would otherwise be a fairly impressive view, due to the elevation. I think it would look better if those GB walls were flattened. The terrain walls that follow that are cool though.

If you'll be applying type/depth to the textures, I hope you make those mud pits deep mud, for the kids who like to get squirrely.

Well, I like that you're still in there pitching, but as for the "debating on what to do" where it concerns the last track, heck man just keep going. I think we all but had the texture stuff worked out save a few minor blemishes. Press on, bud. Image

As for "Crosswinds 2003", oh yeah! Loved the first two. The only thing I can say is perhaps you'll give some consideration to the idea of this latest version following the same pattern as its predessors; short and to the point. Maybe 1:30 per lap...with 1:45 being the max. Just my two cents, bud.

Looking forward to seeing the next version of...of...hey, what was the name of that track anyway lol.
