>>1) Whats a good kind of track for a beginner to make?
Start with a simple oval or square
>>2) What are some good beginners textures?
Any of the stock textures... but C98 is probably best to give you an understanding of how they line up etc..
3) Where do i start?

Rygon, you said you have downloaded Traxx 1.2, {edit... maybe I'm confusing you with Haccy, anyways get the download here:

when you have learned the basics (it took me 3-4 weeks) THEN come back here and start demanding answers!
I'm expecting your first track to be a killer, don't disappoint me..

It's just the basics when he says that.(Ie:stock textures, terrain) But As you get more complex (Ie customs bigger terrain editing ect.) you should learn something new each time. I've been working on my current project quite some time now and as I add customs I learn new ways of laying them out. Ry-gon I found that after using C98 textures that the Scrapyard run Textures are great. Not the Road ways but just the different flavors of terrain. They helped me get my customs looking good. And when you get into Customs there are ways to transform them to make them look better.

Listen dont b to scared to make a track!it all matters on how much u want to make 1 and I did spend about atleast 2-4 hours a night. but in 3 days i figured out everything just dont worry and take your own paceP.S. if your making a rumble dont make it a circiut or a rally so u can test it offline
then add the summit post it and do some BETA tests

Go through Traxx school, the track that it helps you build is a very good basis for a beginner, once you get the basics then you can vary and experiment with all the tools.
Just banging around playing with the tools is fine, but going through a sequence to actually build a track is better,(ie traxx school) that way you don't get frustrated when the banging around don't produce anything useful.
Thats how I learned, everyone is different, just my $.02
