Problem with model going over water

Post by SLO_GutterboyMG »

Hummm....I have a model for a bridge going over water but when u drive on it it appears your driving in water, like water comes from the tires & it's slippery. Why is this? The model is like 10 altitude above the water.

Yeah I hate that, the two long bridges do that in treasure bay, the only way that I know of to get rid of it is to place some ground boxes below it, thats what I did in arctic and one bridge in castle rock.

Ahhh ok thanks Mal Image

Yeah noticed it did that in TB, bridge also dissapeared at times into the water heh Image

I could do the bridge with groundboxes but it would of been much harder to get the textures to match up since it's 3 wide where on a model I can just use 1 256 image.

The bridge that dissapears (goes under water) in TB was intentional cuz thats what it does in evo :)

If you take a look in Arctic under the 2nd bridge you'll see that the boxes are buried way under it in the sand but it still works just as good for getting rid of the water effect, also you can texture the boxes with a common 64x64, then set it to wood to get that sound if you want it.
