i figured i would start this thread because it seems that if anything wierd can happen in this game it will happen to me from flying trucks, sinking tires, flooded terrains and now this elastic water stuck to my frame while doing some laps on LC's Torture pit...
this pic is completely unretouched and this is about as far as it will stretch before it snaps back...

has anyone else experienced any unusuall abnorMALities or perhaps a unique Error Terror?, then post it here

Check your floppy drive to see if somebody has stuffed it full of rubber bands.

here we go again it seems every time i start a new project something bizarre happens...

i call this the Bermuda TRI-angle hehe, all the trucks (8) seem to want to congregate then morph into one on this little triangular texure patch in the middle of nowhere on this track..

the two upper shots show the trucks spinning and then eventually come to a stop as seen in the two lower shots...

<IMG SRC="http://malibuco.hostme.com/images_mtmg/bermudaTRIangle.jpg" border=0>

again, these pics are not in any way altered from what happened in the game other than i had cropped them.

Here's a long shot. Have you managed somehow to get two sets of courses in the track? I had this happen once before, except in my case the extra set was in a convenient oval shape so the trucks would just go round and round in the middle of nowhere. I scratched my head for days. Eventually it struck me that I started the track based on an old one (where the courses were still in place even though I had deleted everything else) and that the trucks were actually tracing the old course (which had been buried far undergound by this time and so was not visible).

Hmmm, maybe it's the backdrop. One should never forget the importance of a good backdrop. If you need one, you might want to try this one . I did, and it looks and works great ;-)

If there's a truck maker looking at this, we'd like to make a request. How about making a truck like the second last frame in this series (the one with the monster patrol wing). I'm sure it would have won the originality contest for sure.

Hey Mal, are you going to enter any of these for the expo screenshots?

And speaking of screenshots, will you be taking requests on this strange one too. I missed the rubber water one, but let's see: how about the Marty 54 truck, psyco's first blood truck, lord cap's old ford, and a couple stock trucks, maybe executioner, firestone wilderness and wildfoot. That'd make a pretty picture, doncha think. hehe.

It was very good of jelz to post those pics, and even better for everyone else to post their experiences with it. I think we finally have a handle on it now.

I've updated the error page with it.

Yeah i had this happen about a year ago, i posted a series of screen shots of it on the main mtm bbs in various weather conditions at the time but unfortunatly i cannot find the pics Image ,...i am 99.9% sure it was JNJ's '82 porsche although i just repodded it and everything works fine now.

Does anyone else get the prob where after a 'Box Count' error, you play again but spin up in the air and fly all over for a long time. Kinda fun, but weird.

Yeah, if you get The Dreaded Box Count Error you have to exit the game and restart.

I've never flown up into the air, but I've had the truck drive around in circles.

The game doesn't seem to exit the race after The Dreaded Box Count Error and so it tries to run two races at once.

Image yeah i had a blast with this the first time it happened, in fact i saved a version of my track that gets the error every time just incase anyone else is interested in seeing it, if so i'll post the zip somewhere for d/l...

as you can see in the screen shot you can get some major airtime, to do this just exit the race after you get the error and start a new race on a different track without exiting the game, sometimes the truck will immediately start flying around uncontrollably other times the front tire will just dig in causing the truck to just want to go in circles if this happens either drive the truck off a jump or cliff or call the helicopter and let it drop you midair to get the ride started.... wild

It's not everyday you can turn a pesky error into some fun, but this one's done it.

pic one

pic two

Thanks again, Mal.

Something VERY neat. Once this happened and I could actually (kind of) control my truck in Mid-air. No more driving, flying! Like taking an ever lasting jump.
