Help! Error! (not on the errors list)

Post by SIGage »

I downloaded traxx 1.4 (chz 4 makin it free GB) but when i opened Cucumber Chaos and only added one model the track would not run. I got this message:
MRGL:texture - Bad texture size : NULL.RAW
I deleted the model but i still get the error. There was nothing wrong with the model so what's going on?

Well i tried re-podding it but it still doesn't work. I unpodded the track and there's no NULL.RAW.

Just playing with the track again after a long long time. It was working fine. I didn't even add any new models, I was just moving a few things around when I got this error again after I podded the track. I still can't figure it out because there is no NULL.RAW in the file. I even tried putting one in but it didn't help.
I deleted all models and textures in traxx file (stripped the track to nothing) and just used a stock backdrop with one stock ground texture but still nothing I get the error.

Edit: I think this might have been sorted before but the link you gave doesn't work

It's not on there though. It only has an description of an error where a texture is named. There is no error on the list with NULL.RAW. I have no idea what NULL.RAW is

Rename any texture to null.raw then put it in your track to void the error.

Usually when I see that error, it's because the model is not mapped to a texture, thus you get the NULL.RAW error. I see similar happenings when I convert a model to BIN format using zmodeler, and the textures are not in the proper location. The program can't find the RAW to create the BIN, so it just assigns "null" to it.

Did the model come with any texture files? (what's the model?)

There is no new model. I even deleted all the old ones one by one to check but none did anything.
Just made a file called NULL.RAW and it said "Bad Texture: 0dsf32.RAW" so I made a file called 0dsf32.RAW and the track works. Weird solution but it's all OK now cheers.

I get the null error from time to time when I purge unused textures from traxx. Small bug, easy fix.

null.raw means there is no texture detected for the model. even if you added a texture to the model, there might be something you did wrong in adding the texture, causing it to not recognize that there is a texture there.

In mtm2 it can be strictly track related that has no models, I know this for a fact and can recreate it.

The bad texture size error can also be model related but it's never 'null.raw', least I've never seen it that way, instead the bad texture size error will also name the missing texture that is associated with a model on the track or the truck you are driving.
