Cable Modem Help

I have a cable modem connected to my PC by ethernet. It doesn't appear in any programs that use modems (i.e. MTM2, Norton Anti-Virus) How do i get in in there? Its installed, but does not appear in the hardware profile under modems. How do i get it there?

The modem does not show up in device manager since it's not part of your computer. But you do see the ethernet card there (usually under network adapters).

I think i figured it out... btw, the ethernet card was in there
