Some technical problems

Post by Slickster »

Dunno what forum to put it in, so here. I had framerate skips in all apllications and programs, and I have figured the cause to be my internet (which is a local company, and that turning the internet off makes the skip disappear, lol). Just wondering if any of you guys have ideas? Real problems for online play.

What kind of hookup do you have. I had one isp that forced you to use their own, what they called an, access manager program. It was a real headache. I've since been using a Linksys router (which used no software at all) and have had no problems ever since. I'm automatically logged on at boot up, and it stays logged on permanently (unless I disconnect manually).

I used to get that frame-skip from JUNO when they were still around and I had an account...I believe it was intentional to keep people from using their free ISP connection for online gameplay,(where their ad banners cannot be seen)...they seem to expect you to only use the 'net for shopping.....idiots. MOST people who use a free ISP aren't the same ones who spend lots of money, correct?....

Netzero took a different route....once the game (mtm2) starts, a message pops-up saying that you HAVE to keep their banner visible at all times, then they disconnect you.....

I just keep NZ around as an "emergency connection back-up" of sorts today, in case my regular ISP is down (rare, but it's happened at least once).
