Physical differences between trucks?

Post by rocketalces »

I wonder whether the physics of all monster trucks is the same.
The question came up when I saw some beautyfully made custom trucks, with larger wheel span.
Does this only affect the display or do the physics change accordingly?
What about other characteristics, like weight, HP, etc.?

I made some tests on the SB speedway and it seems that the original trucks Bearfoot and BigFoot have best handling. BoogeyVan is more twitchy and less stable.

I asked because I feared that trucks with wheels further apart would gain an unfair advantage due to increased stability. But as you wrote, that's not the case.

Next I'm gonna try some of your trucks. For sure they look great :-).
By the way: the link you gave is wrong.

Cheers

Your trucks look great and are well balanced, but they are extremely heavy on the frame rate. How does it come? Even those derived from standard trucks without a lot of additional polygons make the game stutter.

Any suggestions (beside buying new hardware...)?

Yeah, I had been wondering about this. I also would think that if the wheels were further out from the body and the body was "lower" on that imaginary line that it would corner better ("...Wider is better..." <-Grand Am commercial)

In racing we dont mind addons and whatever tweeks works for you is ok with us. However some trucks have a tendacy to lag more than others wich is not so good as it kill much fun when players are flying all over or when you cant pass because of it.

I have the previlege of playing with a truck Rep made for me and so does SLO_Cope. If you're looking for racing trucks you may wanna look at those from Team SLO Them settings are exellent for just about all tracks.
