POD mounting

Post by The_Rplayer »

why do they bother making a POD mounting program, when you simply got to the document pod in ure monster truck madness folder, and just type the name of the file in he directory the files in, and change the number. Its much better, and you can fit as many pods as you want, when POD programs have a 30-40 pod limit.

Anyone else think this?

Pod mounting programs do not have a limit. The game does. 30 before the patch, 99 after the patch.

That's the great thing about computers. You can do things almost any way you want. If you don't want to use a mounting program, don't. Myself, I'll avoid RSI from the extra typing and I'll save the headache by letting the program check to be sure the pod is actually there.

If you play a lot ( alot as in gigs) of addon tracks it become useful and much faster to make the switch.

Like Phin said. either way it work as long as it work according to your preferences.

what i dont like about pod mounting progs is that u cant have much control over what order they go in in the pod.ini and also u cant use pods that arent directly in your mtm2 directory.

However, if u r typing into the pod.ini from notepad u can do stuff like :

pods\trucks\temp\ch\weird\cow.pod
..\..\..\..\ch\trucks\hello.pod
thistruck.dat

c what i am saying?

notes on podit

- lets you change order
- removes entries for missing pods
- recognizes subdirectories
- will rebuild stock pod.ini

it's not perfect but it's pretty good.
