finaly: a linkin park truck for the fans
Well I've scoured the net and can't find a LP fan truck, so, I routed around the web, found a repainting guide... broke out all the utilities and a copy of photoshop... and well 3 attempts later:
go to www.mtm2.com and clikc on trucks and there it is... please tell me what you think [(-:]

First of all, welcome!
Second, I wouldn't be surprized if you were soon presented with medals, the key to MTM Land or other such things, for having taken the route that you did - to <i>learn and make</i> rather than learn to make requests. Well done sir.
As for <a href=http://mtm2.com/~trucks/search.cgi?search=razer target=raze>the truck re-paint</a>, very nice indeed. A picture, if you don't mind...
<a href=http://mtm2.com/~trackville/pics/link.jpg target=truck><img src=http://mtm2.com/~trackville/pics/link.jpg width=320></a>
It looks great but it's not done yet, you've left a tiny blue square on one of the textures, which is mapped to the roof and the spoiler thingy. I don't think that was intentional. Apart from that I have nothing to complain about, although I see a mirroring oddity. Nice work.

heheheh wow my truck sitting on someone elses computer and with someone else behind the wheel thats a grand sight to see...
how do you take a screen shot? when I do "print screen" it never works...
oh and as for the blue bit... that never appears on any of the textures.. I can't change that...
the mirrored "H!GH VOLTAGTE" is deleberate... i figured upside down was something LP might do...
oh and check the back fenders I scaned copied and pasted some signatureds from mike and chester on them LOL
if your one for truck making I'd love to see another fans interpritation of a LP fan-truck...

Start the game, when the race starts type "gold", you will hear an audible sound, and your screen will change. Scroll thru the views you want, and when you want to take a pic, hit the 0 key at the top of the keyboard.
It will save a screenshot, or as many as you wanna take. Open up your paint program, and go into your main MTM2 folder. You will see a file named vel0001.raw or 0002 etc. depending how many you took. Open the first one, set the dialog box to this
and click OK.
The image will open, click Colors, Negative Image. Save as...whatever you want to call it.
You're done.

the roof and the spoiler thingy are mapped to the little blue rectangle I have pointed out in the image below.

ya did a real nice job on the truck razorbug, very nice.
[edit] and hey! ...what track is that WK? heheh

Signatures on the fenders - nice touch, text mirrored deliberately - cool, I wasn't sure about that and didn't think about it much. I see Mal has already pointed out the guilty blue rectangle thingy. As for LP fans, I know there are plenty at <a href=http://vales.com/mtm2>KC's</a>.
>> how do you take a screen shot? when I do "print screen" it never works...
Some video cards (Voodoo usually) don't work with print screen, in those cases the best alternative is to use the game engine itself to write the screenshots, as Rep Fan has outlined. The trick with that is having software that will open the 24-bit RAW images. Photoshop will, Paint Shop Pro will, and programs like ThumbsPlus and XnView (<a href=viewtopic.php?p=12428 target=xn>link</a>) will do so effortlessly when configured properly.

Hey Rep Fan, when I saw your advice the first time at KC's I paused to wonder why you mentioned "negative image", then it occured to me, you're opening the image with the wrong settings (see above link). It's three channel RGB rather than CMY, try that and see if that doesn't eliminate the "negative" step.

so you have to type in a cheat to take screen shots... so complex.. couldn't they just allow Print Screen LOL
as for video cards I don't have one... I just use softaware...
it's realy stupid that the rectangle is dissproportionaly large for the area it actualy covers when the raw file is opened...
oh and short of editing the texture and making a new truck all over again with the updated texture, how do you replace the texture on an exisiting truck, every time I've tried it with "texture replacer" program it will no longer work in the game...
PS Photoshop 5.5 which I have won't open raws... although not to worry because I have a Raw-BMP converter...

Yes it will, and it will do it easier if you use the RawAct Plugin.

C-POD : http://zrecon.net/ch_2005/c-pod/c-pod.asp
does raw->bmp bmp->raw and bin texture replacing (altho this needs some modification to work perfectly - it works in most situations. it does not work with animated textures and it does not work if u have the same raw loaded into the bin twice and it does not work if u reload the bin in the c-pod details window - however, most bins dont have any of thoise problems)

a) print screen is allowed (I used it to take the above shot). ;)
b) if you're using software then the screenshots will be in .PCX format.
c) the blue rectangle is not stupid, it's efficient. ;)
d) as for the truck, create a new texture, overwrite the old one, build a new pod, upload new pod to replace the old.
Have fun with Traxx, it's easy! It just takes time.
