Transfer rate check

Post by Phineus »

Are we seeing an improvement in the transfer rates? I usually test with larger tracks like <a href="http://mtm2.com/~tracks/search.cgi?search=zoon+pack+1">zoon pack</a>, alpine's <a href="http://mtm2.com/~tracks/search.cgi?search=orignal">originals</a> or <a href="http://mtm2.com/~tracks/search.cgi?search=sequels">sequles</a>, and old reliable dbk's <a href="http://mtm2.com/~tracks/search.cgi?search=dream+world">dream world</a>. If you have a moment, could you click any of those downloads and do a speed test? You'd be helping out emmensely. You don't have to download it all, just long enough to get a sense of transfer speed. Thanks.

5kbps is average for this comp. The highest I've ever seen was 6.5.

same dial up, different location, different comp, bad phone lines... I'm lucky to get as high as 3kbps here.

overall for the past 36 hrs or so the speed has been good/above average at mtm2.com

50,666 connection here. DBK's began slow but kept getting incrementally faster as seconds and minutes passed, a normal download's speed would level out quickly. Five minutes in it's at 5.40 kb/sec, two minutes in it was at about 3.5 kb/sec. Now trying ZooN pack - it's immediately at 5.65 kb/sec, same with an Alp pack. All of this within 10 minutes - the first result may have been an anomaly.
