I hope that never happens to the MTMG...

Post by Mat-Allum »

One or two years ago, I was addicted to a site called "Shivasite." It was the main source of stuff for a program called Visual Pinball. I still play with that game. Shivasite was basically the MTMG of Visual Pinball. Its URL was at:

http://www.hippie.net/shivasite/

Don't go. Go to Shivasite.com instead.

Like I say, it "was" at it. One day, I was exploring around Shivasite and suddenly I had to go to the VP site (www.visualpinball.com, a site that is still there :) ) and when I tried to return, I came face-to-face with a horrible, dreadful, and everything else error:

(yata, yata, yata)
... has gone though a major denial of service attacks and has forced us to suspend operations. ...
(yata, yata, yata)

SS was not seen again until a month later. Easy-to-use and fun to explore, the original site also had more downloads. With the new one, you have to be registered for ANYTHING. You can't even enter the download page unless registered. And since my e-mail isn't working, I can't do that either (because they require you to get the password through e-mail) so I can't get anything. I don't like this new one. I miss the old one.

Let's cross our fingers and pray that the MTMG will never go through what Shivasite did.
